I stare at him, my chest feeling vaguely heavish. His hair is shorter, he looks older. Then he steps toward me, and I step toward him, then I'm in his arms.

He encompasses me, my feet lifting off of the ground. Our eyes meet, then our lips. His are as warm and confident as I remember, moving against mine like they're not remembering but simply returning to where they belong.

I slip my arms around his neck from where they were uselessly pressed between his chest and mine. Slide my fingers though his fine, shorter hair. I haven't taken a breath in what feels like forever, but that's okay. He's my air.

He smells like rain and mint and fresh air, instead of his most recent cologne that smells like oranges and wood chips. I can practically feel the endorphins being released, causing the calm that's settled over my brain since he touched me.

I clutch his shoulder when he lets me go, but not all the way. I slide against him until my feet are back on the ground, and his arms are circled around my back. I grasp the edges of his jacket, and he leans down a ways to rest his forehead against mine.

"Katherine," he murmurs.

I'm breathless and my lips inch up into an enormous smile I'd normally be embarrassed about. "Hi."

"We have an audience." His eyes are twinkling. I missed them.

I missed everything about him, but especially his eyes. Those eyes that can go from a cool chocolate colour to a dancing dark caramel in a moment. And his mouth. And is hair. And his entire body and feel of it pressed against mine.

"I missed you so much." I whisper, because it's all I can think about.

He moves, and presses a soft, cherishing kiss on my forehead. "Me too."
