"Wake up. I need a thing." I tell Ellis, sitting on his bed as he yawns and stretches placidly.
"Pardon?"
"I've decided that I need a thing."
"A thing." He repeats it, not quite a question but not quite a statement. He rubs his eyes.
"Cam has left again and I realized that I need a hobby."
"You know, I was having an excellent dream."
"I brought you an americano." I proffer the drink and he sits up, the sheet falling from his bare chest... "You have a nipple ring."
He looks down, blearily. "Um...yes. I do."
"Since when?"
"Hmm...eleventh grade. My friend Abel and I got them together."
"Like girls and belly button rings...anyway, want to check out Big Brothers, Big Sisters with me?"
He takes a gulp of coffee and pouts. "I don't want to be a big brother all by myself."
"I think you can do it jointly."
"Hmm..."
