(Chris's P.O.V.)

"You sure you don't have anymore of those Poinsettia flowers?"

"I'm sure sir. Are you sure you don't want any roses, orchids-."

"No, I'm good." I hung up my phone shaking my head at the same time.

I've been exhausted as hell trying to pull this whole anniversary gift together.

I wanted it to be perfect.

But everyone was just testing my patience.

I felt bad fo' actin' very distant and shady towards my baby, but I couldn't make her suspect anythin' else.

But nowadays women always wanna assume a nigga cheatin' when they ain't actin' a certain way towards them and I knew she would probably be having the same thought process going on in her head.

That's the last thing I wanted her to think but for now it was gonna have to do.

We've been with each other for five months about to be six and it's the longest real relationship I had for a while.

I had picked Laylanii up from school earlier to explain everythin' to her over some lunch and I told her it was something special that we had to keep between us two and away from Camary.

"Chrissy?"

"Yes babygirl." I turned around since my back was facin' her to see her a lil' sad.

"You okay babygirl?" She nodded walking towards me.

"Come here." She walked into my arms.

"What's botherin' my lil' monkey?"

"Nothin'."

"You lying to Chrissy now?"

"I thought you didn't like that name?"

"I don't, I love that name." A small grin appeared on her face.

"You know I love you a lot Lanii." She nodded.

"You're a beautiful little girl just like mommy."

"Really?" She beamed in excitement.

"Of course." She started to blush a little.

"And whatever's botherin' you, you can come and talk to me."

"I know."

"Whatever you need Chrissy gotchu'."

"Okay."

"Okay?"

"Okay." I kissed her on her cheek and hugged her for a while.

"What's that in your hand?"

"Oh nothing." I could see her trying to crumple the paper behind her.

"If it's nothing then why are you hiding it from me?" She shrugged

"Come on show me." She sighed giving me the half crushed up paper.

I opened it to see it saying "Father-Daughter Dance".

She cupped her face trying to cover it, and out of no where she burst out into tears.

I didn't say anything I just engulfed her into a tight hug. I rubbed her small back trying to calm her down.

"What's wrong ma?"

Even though it was kinda obvious I still wanted her to express how she felt, especially if she had been holding in what she had been feeling for a while now.
