8. Unexpected

(August's P.O.V.)

"No daddy you have to mix it like this."

"I'm sorry baybeh' I'm tryin' hea'."

"I thought you said you knew how to cook?"

"I did say that but I neva' said anythin' 'bout bakin'."

She giggled "Well it's almost the same thing."

"Ummm not really. Come on les' finish puttin' this batta' into the cupcake pan so we can start on lunch."

"Okay."

"Daddy?"

"Yes princess."

"Are you going to leave me again like you did the first time?"

I looked up at her "Of course not baybeh' I'm hea' to stay and I ain't goin' no whea'."

"Okay good because I really missed you."

I smiled "Me too baybeh."

I popped the cupcake pan into the oven and scooped up Elana. "Look at you. You have cake mix all ova' yo' face." She giggled kissin' meh makin' the mix come on ma' face.

"Eeew." She laughed hoppin' out my arm runnin' the other way.

I chuckled about to go afta' ha until my phone started buzzin' in my pocket. I reached in my sweats to see Kiara callin' meh.

"Wassup baybeh' momma." I could here her kiss ha teeth.

"Your so extra August can't you answer the phone like a normal person?"

"I can, but I just choose not too. So get used to it." I replied takin' a sponge and cleanin' the counta' with it.

"Yea whatever. How's my baby doing?"

"She's good."

"Mmmh I'm surprised y'all gettin' along well."

"We're actually gettin' along better than I expected. She calls me "daddy" and everythin'."

I could hear her laugh in the background.

"That's good. So what y'all plan on doing together today?"

"We went out yesterday so were just gonna chill today and bake."

"You? Baking? That's funny but I'm for real."

"I'm not lyin'."

"Oh okay. Well I'll pick her up soon she has school tomorrow and I don't want her to be in bed late."

"Alright. Why don't you come chill with us?"

"I can't I still have an hour or two until I get back into town and plus me and you are not on the "chilling" level yet." I chuckled

"Aii whatever Kiara, but just know when I asked if you wanted to chill I meant as in our daughter being included but you do you." I replied then hangin' up. I sighed throwin' sponge into da sink.

To be honest Kiara's attitude has been off the charts lately but since I'm not tryin' to act up in front of Elana or anyone else so it's whatever.

This whole time Elana was on some bullshit thinkin' I'm the one who left her for 5 years and neva' decided to reach out to her meanwhile I had no idea she even existed.

But I wasn't gonna sweat it.

She's hea' now and that's all that matters. I haven't told anyone I have a daughter yet. The only people who know are those who were at the "get together" a few weeks ago so I'm just tryin' my hardest to keep my cool about this situation even though it still hurts.
