I sat in my walk in closet, looking through my shoe boxes trying to figure out which shoes to wear tonight for the celebration that DeMari had invited me to.
I was a little skeptical about going and was going to change my mind. But after sitting in bed at home alone I decided to get up and get ready.
August had taken Eli for the night since he's been working a lot lately and hadn't spent much time with her.
I still felt uncomfortable just showing up alone, but it wasn't about me so I just sucked it up and continued to get ready.
After going through countless of shoes I decided to go with my nude open toe heels that somewhat matched my outfit (picture above).
I got in my car and drove off to DeMaris place and once I pulled up to his mansion I got out and made sure to get the present that I bought for Mariah with me.
I thought it would be nice since she worked so hard and she had finally got the news from my boss that they were accepting her clothing line to be apart of Marie's company.
I walked up to the door and before I could even ring a bell or knock someone had opened it for me.
I thanked the guy that looked as if he was their butler and walked inside.
"The party is outside miss, do you want me show you the way."
"Yes please." I followed him outside to see everyone dancing and in the pool while others were eating and/or drinking.
I mean the weather lately here in L.A has been weird, it was really cold some days and other days like today people were able to have pool parties like it was the middle of July when it was really November.
"Kiara!" I looked around to see where I heard my name from until Mariah's head popped up from the crowd of people she was surrounded by.
I waved at her and walked towards where she was at. "Here. I hope you like it." I said handing her the small gift bag.
"Awww you didn't have to get me anything, but I appreciate it."
"No problem, I wanted to."
"I'm really glad you came!" She threw her arms around me hugging me tightly.
"Well I have your father to thank for the invite and plus it's at least I could do."
"Well don't let me stand in your way, please drink, eat, have fun!" I nodded just looking around.
I didn't know anyone here like that, so it felt weird but I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least stay awhile.
I walked towards where they were serving drinks and it was a basically a bar. They had these fruity looking drinks and it looked good from where I was standing.
