Chapter 7

Well I flew and flew as fast as I could until I was sure I was about twenty miles from the town then I slowed down and just coasted for about six hours.  Then I landed for lunch. I found a five dollar bill on the ground and so I figured I was in Brazil because I knew I was not anywhere close to the United States boarder.

When I walked into the small general store I picked up a water and a small container of raspberries. Then when I was out of the store I walked down the road and sat down on the bench. It was nice and relaxing to be just sitting there acting like I wasn’t running for my life.

Well when I was done with my small lunch I threw it away and walked around till I found another alley and when I got to the end of it I was relieved that there were no guys in shadows and weirdoes coming up behind me. Then I snapped out my wings and took off.

As I was flying I kept looking down at all the little buildings below and wondering what all those people were doing right now and if they had families or not. Then I’d always wonder if my mom was panicking and wondering why I wasn’t home and when I would get home. If I would ever get home.

Then after I flew for and other six hours I was sure I crossed the United States boarder and so I landed. Then I walked around trying to find a park but I couldn’t so I asked for directions.

“Excuse me, but do you know where the nearest park is?”

“Yes. It is actually just down the road and take the next right and you’ll be there”, said the lady I asked.

“Thank you” and I took off running for the park to go find another tree.

When I was all settled into a tree I looked up at the stars and fell fast asleep under their dim light. Then when morning came I got up and found breakfast. Then I took off from another alley and flew and flew till I was at the lake.

When I got to the lake I landed and, with luck, I didn’t fall on my butt again and I rested for five minutes and took off for home. Counting down the time till I’d be grounded for the rest of my life.
