Dmitri holds his hand out and I grab it as he stands me up, my face still an expression of utter shock. Darius and Marina rush to us as Dmitri glares at the Weres who had stopped training to gape at us; they quickly get back to their tasks when they catch their Alpha's searing gaze.

"Alpha, we're terribly sorry-" Marina rushes, a look of concern spreading across her face.

"If this happens again, there will be consequences." Dmitri cuts her off, a deep scowl marring his otherwise handsome face.

"Of course, Alpha Maddox; we protect the Luna with our life." Darius nods curtly.

"No, hang on; you can't just kill people because they trip me over." I frown.

Lisa may have offended me but her behaviour wasn't worthy of death. It both shocked and terrified me how easily Dmitri had taken the life of a member of his pack .

"She disrespected both her Luna and Alpha; we know where our positions lie and the consequences of stepping over the line repeatedly." He looms over me, his frown still deep seated as he tries to hold back his anger.

I wouldn't accept it that easy, Mountain Crest Pack wouldn't kill off their members so easy. A sudden anger falls over me and I narrow my eyes at him.

"You're disgusting." I growl, shaking my head at Dmitri before storming away from him.

I don't sense anyone following behind me as I stride into his home, aimlessly through large rooms until I walk into Dmitri's Beta, Logan, staring intently over a large map spread across a table.

"Um... sorry, I didn't mean to disturb." I say nervously, playing with the hem of my top as I try to crane my neck to get a better look at what the markings on the map were.

All anger had faded into curiosity.

"No worries, Luna. Has the Alpha allowed you into this room?" he asks, stepping in front of the table and blocking the view of the map with arms crossed.

"I- er..."

Two warm hands settle on my shoulders and I flinch slightly; Dmitri had caught up to me.

"The Luna shouldn't be in here." He answers Logan's question.

Dmitri pulls me back out of the room and the wooden door closes in front of me.

"What's going on in there?" I ask.

"An ongoing project."

"Is it to do with that sensitive information that Logan was on about before?" I try.

"You're quite the inquisitive, angel." Dmitri murmurs and I'm divided as to whether to take it as a compliment of insult.

He lifts my chin and leans down, surprising me by brushing his lips against the corner of my mouth. My eyes slowly drift closed at their own accord but I force myself to concentrate.

"Do you always distract people when you do something wrong?" I raise a brow, using all my will power to turn my face away from his lips.

"What wrong did I do, angel?" he furrows his brows in confusion.

"Are you serious? You snapped someone's neck like you were swatting a fly." I exclaim.

"Everything I do is with swift reason and purpose; I'm not feared by outsiders for no reason."

I huff once more and roll my eyes in exasperation; he didn't seem to get the concept of mercy.

"You'll understand one day... or maybe not." He lifts a shoulder on a shrug.
