[Cassandra's POV]

A whole year had flown by since I left Dmitri and I hadn't been discovered. Clark made sure that every month I'd taken the scent dulling drink to be extra careful and not let anybody from the Uncharted Pack know that I was Blood Moon's Luna.

As Clark kept telling me when I first arrived here, Lycans weren't so bad; it was like dealing with testosterone filled teenagers.

After training with Micah for so long, I was finally able to beat him in a fight which soon resulted in me going against other Lycans which at first terrified me but I quickly realised they were just as harmless as every other sane Werewolf... most of the time. I'd grown stronger, faster and much more confident.

Time spent away from the Mad Alpha had done some good to me.

"Cass!"

I turn my head in the direction of the voice that was calling me.

It was Alex, a shapeshifter and Kellie's best friend approaching me with a smile taking over most of his face. Alex was always the friendliest out of the whole pack and the Lycans seemed to not mind more than one shapeshifter in their pack but then again, they weren't allowed to kick the Luna's best friend out; Kellie would most probably throw a fit.

Seeing her in her shapeshifter leopard form made everyone including me antsy; I'm pretty sure the Lycans have had enough of their share in her claws imbedded into their fur whenever they annoyed her, including Ben.

Standing from the steps of the porch I was sat on, I shield my eyes from the sun and wait until he's close enough.

"Hey Alex, is the surprise ready?" I ask excitedly.

"Yeah, Clark is making sure Micah doesn't find out by distracting him as much as possible." He nods eagerly.

Alex and Micah seemed to have grown really close too; they hung out as much as Micah did with me and sometimes Clark and Phoebe would join.

It was Micah's birthday today and it had been my idea to make a surprise party; Kellie and Hunter were nice enough to let us use their spacious house for the party but Kellie and I thought the Alpha was only saying yes because there would be plenty of food.

I'd never seen someone eat as much as Hunter.

"We should head to the Alpha's house, the surprise should happen soon."

Alex starts walking ahead and I follow after him.

"So have you found your mate yet?" I ask out of the blue.

I tried to avoid that topic as much as possible to avoid questions but I had noticed how Alex had once harboured 'more than friends' feelings for his best friend, Kellie.

It reminded me of Micah and I but we never mentioned Dmitri after the first time I stepped into this territory; I knew it was just anger him which he'd then take out on me.

It was hard to ignore my wolf's cries and begs to go back to the back she knew we both belonged to but eventually she quietened down. As much as I didn't want to, I knew I had to go back one day because I couldn't stay away from the one I was bound to.

"No, I haven't found my mate yet but I'm in no rush, I mean we're immortal." He shrugs on a small laugh, his dark brown eyes squinting slightly.

"Liar, you so want to find her." I shove him on a smirk.

Alex rolls his eyes on a mock sigh and shoves me back.

"You see through everyone just as well as Kellie, it's like you're just as Luna as she is." He shakes his head.
