OKAY HERE'S MY OPINION. HAIRDRESSERS SCARE THE SHIT OUT OF ME. Especially the Asian ones. I don't know if you've ever had your hair cut by one but they're hella scarier than the white people and what they do is like they want you to be a 'regular' customer so they'll try to suck up to you. And they have these super uncomfortable hair washing sinks where you can hear them breathing into your face. I mean, this applies to all hairdressers basically. But the one hair place my mom drags me to all the time has a lady who washes my hair painfully slowly whilst breathing all over me.
And the worst part is when they try to make conversation. The hairdresser sits you down on the chair and says things like: "ohh yo hair so thick, how so thick?" Or "What cut you want today?" Or the classic one: "Your outfit/hair looks sooooo good today." Bitch if I knew my hair looked good why would I be coming here to get it all chopped off?
I'm not done!!
Next they put the little hair cutting cape thing on you and pull it so tightly around your neck you can barely breathe, and then they go at it.
SNIPSNIPSNIP "OH YOU SAID YOU WANTED THREE INCHES CUT? WHAT ABOUT SEVEN INCHES MORE? YOUR HAIR IS A LITTLE TOO LONG TBH"
You soulfully watch your hair fall to the ground in clumps, and feel your chest clench with regret because you know it's fate is in the hands of the lady who breathes in people's faces.
Long story short, I do not enjoy getting my hair cut.
