Time ticked forward.
I was put through hard, long training. My strength doubled. Even tripled, Garp personally taught me, along with Bogard, who traded in my staff for a long thin sword, he told me to call it a 'katana'.
I was skilled with it, my fists and my aim wasn't that bad either. I usually had a few daggers, a gun or two, a couple grenades and of course my katana, I, you could say, was a jack of all trades. I climbed the ranks quickly.
Then I became a captain, then a commodore. That's where I stand now. I work alongside with Garp, and then one day, he came to me with a hoodie of sorts. He wore a dog like mask thing. "Nyx! I have a gift for you!"
I stare. Taking the folded article awkwardly.
It was a hooded cloak. With cat ears.
Freakin' neko ears.
This then reminded me of Ace and Luffy's nickname, causing me to flush red.
But I had to be polite.
"Thank you Garp-san!" I say with an innocent smile, giving him a small hug, putting on the hoodie cloak thing.
Then, two younger teens appear from nowhere, arguing over something. Probably nothing by the way they were acting.
"COBY! HELMEPPO!" Barked Garp, causing the boy's to freeze, looking terrified, they were nothing less than chore boy's.... I felt bad. I stepped in front of them, blocking them from Garp's hit. "I think, I can help.." I say in my quiet lingering accented tone.
I turn, looking at them, my blue eyes looking down at them with mixed emotion from my darkened face. "They may not look strong now. But take a look at my little brother..." I say, referencing to Ace, but only Garp understood this. "DON'T GO EASY ON EM' THEY NEED A STRICT FIST!" He began to bring down his hand, but my quick reflexes stopped the powerful arm. "Grandpa. Please stop."
This of course worked, as every time I used the term 'grandpa' with Garp, he treated me like I truly was his inconet little Grand-daughter.
I look at the two kids, they look up at me wide eyed, shaking, clutching each other. They were probably Luffy's age.. give or take a year or two.
"Why are you standing there? Drop and give me 150." I hiss, quietly, but in a dangerous tone, as I turn, my cloak flares out, showing my weapon collection. "That's where we can start for a few less than beginners."
"AYE MA'AM!"
I smirk, my back to them, "No need for 'ma'am.' I'm not 40 something. N will do."
"AYE N-SAMA"
My smirk deepens as someone says, "The new bounty posters are finished, take a look!"
I step forward, my mind racing to my brother and their dreams, and I scan the posters.
I smile softly as I gingerly take a poster, folding it and sticking it in my shirt pocket.
Upon it a brother of mine who was now truly one with his inner flame.
"Luffy..... c'mon, you can do it...." I whisper, looking at the ocean, splashing back and forth below the ship, the smile stuck on my lips, at least it was there for the moment being.
A few weeks later, I was working with the two boys, Coby and Helmeppo, when Garp walks up to me saying, "You're being moved." He wasn't pleased with this.
"Where?!" I cry, surprised, and slightly curious.
"Loguetown. Smoker needs another recruit."
I raise an eyebrow, Smoker? He's a guy with quite the personality, and a serious love of cigars. And a serious hate for me..
He think's I got in easy, because I'm Garp's 'granddaughter'.
He doesn't know shit. No one does....
"Why?" I question, my nose wrinkled as if I'd taken a wiff of something horrible.
"DON'T QUESTION ME GIRL!"
"N-SAMA!" Yells Coby, running up to me, Helmeppo on his heels. "We finished the warm-up you instructed us to do!"
His face was red for other reasons than the 'warm-up' I'd just put them through.
Some of the marines called both Coby and Helmeppo my 'fanboys' they worshiped the ground I walked on. . .
"Listen, I've been placed in another area for the time being. So for now, goodbye." I say simply, and with a swift hand movement the hood was down, my dark hair whipping in the breeze as I send the two a firm, 'you cry I'll kill you' look. "See ya around."
And with that I turn, my cloak billowing, my hood going back upon my head as I start off to collect my stuff and prepare a journey to Loguetown.
