I eventually drifted into a fitful sleep, trembling as the salty liquid slowly filled the box I was confined in.

I woke when I was met with more foreign shouts and was no longer bobbing up and down, the top of the box was pried off and light spilled into it, shining on me in all my blood stained glory, little washing away from the liquid in the bottom of the case.

They pull me out, studying me, like I was no more than a digit.

They exchange murmuring words, looks that spoke volumes, then, I couldn't figure out the next chapter.

They pulled me into a building, lettering I couldn't quite understand labeled it, and then into a room full of other beings, some scared, others, trying to look brave, some stare off into the distance, an empty broken look in their eyes, like an animal that had been hit one too many time... perhaps more.

They whip me of blood and do little with my wounds, they pull over my head a white thin dress, hanging at my knees, my hair traveling past my ankles and around me.

They then hand cuff me once more and sit me down in the room of beings, some more strange than others...

A female studied me sadly and says softly in a language at the time I couldn't understand.

I look at her no fear, nor sadness are worn on my face, only slight confusion.

She counties to speak in a comforting tone, I then decided she was trust worthy.

I spoke for the first time I'd been in this strange world, "Valdis Nyx."

My tone was of a child's, yet possessing a certain soft accent, sweet and pure, yet bold and courageous. Soaked in misery.

The female looked at me and nodded softly and pointed to herself, "Mert."

I responded with a polite bow of the head, and she nods in return, softly smiling.

I sat next to her, head held high, a firm unbeatable facial expression, at that moment and time I promised myself that I'd never be broken eyed.

Time passed and beings left and entered the room. I studied the contents of the room.

There where both males and females, older and younger, and in shades of many colors, but I slowly made the recitation that I was the youngest.

Then Mert was next.

She gave me a sad look of good bye as she was led towards the door and I refused to let the fear creep into my eyes. Pain was not unknown to me, but I refused to notice it.

More time slowly went by and then I was next.

Head held high I leave the room to a platform, my strides quick to keep up with the being leading me away and a male began to talk, gesturing to me, lifting an arm above my head, and holding my head up, running a hand threw my long dark hair.

The crowd before me yelled and then a man with a sake like face made an offer and the room went silent.

He then claimed his prize.
