A New Member...

I step from my room, adjusting the top of my dress.

The sun scrapped the horizon, tasting the world before letting its light pour upon everyone and everything in this world.
I sigh, watching the stars fade away.
It made me sad.
The stars dieing out, even if they shall return in the night that shall return, but who knows if the same people will be around to seem them.

I go to the kitchen, Kiti preparing breakfast.
Something fish based, as usual.

"Kiti?" I ask, stirring my cup of green tea, "When are we arriving at the next island?"
"About an hour."
I nod.
"I'm collecting new members."
She looked up wide eyed, then collected herself. "About time, Valdis."
I take a sip of my drink ignoring her coy tone. "Did you notice anything strange last night?"
"No..." She said, turning raising an eyebrow, "Why?"
"No reason." I say flatly.

For the longest of the time last night I felt invisible eyes upon me...
But it was most likely nothing.
I stand, taking my plate, consuming silently.
Something was stirring.
I've been feeling it since last night...
But what it is, I don't know.
After breakfast, I leave, telling Kiti not to bother me until we've reached the island.
I sit in my room, sharpening and polishing my sword, even though it didn't need either things.
For the entire hour I occupied myself with that, trying not think of what I could yet to understand.

Then Kiti knocked, announcing we'd arrived, and there was a crowd outside.
I stand, putting my sword into its sheath and stepping outside.
Indeed, a group stood on the docks, growling and shouting like savages.
I step onto the dock, Kiti at my side, saying nothing.

"HEY LOOK BOYS!!" Laughed the largest of the savages, "IT'S A COUPLE OF BITCHES WHO THINK THEY CAN PLAY PIRATES!!"

I curl my lip, disgusted.

"AWW LOOK!!" He said, stalking closer, "THE HUSSY'S ANGRY!"
His gang chortled.
"Whatcha gonna do 'bout it, bitch?" He said, his face inches from mine, his mouth reeked of liquor.
"LISTEN UP BOYS!!" He yelled, still up in my face, "LET'S TEACH THIS LITTLE BITCH AND HER PET A LESSON!!"
They cheered.
Kiti hissed while I wrapped my hand around my sword's handle.
In a swift movement, I pull my sword out of its confinements, the leader of the savages takes a half step back, and in one gesture, he was bleeding.

My sword dripped red.

His arm was sliced down to the bone.

He screamed.

"GET HER DAMNIT!!!" He yelled to his accomplices looked horrified, but advanced anyway.
Kiti hissed more venomously, transforming into a lion, growling and roaring.
She prepared a pounce, and in a single leap she had three guys pinned, slicing them to bits.
Gore and blood everywhere.
There was six more to defeat.
Burly, tough, big men.
Against me.
I didn't flinch, I just acted.
My sword plummeted into the firsts chest, an instantaneous death, my eyes brimmed with tears, the second and third died simultaneously, when I beheaded them at the same time after they had lunged at me, blood splatter everywhere, including on me and my face, clothes, and hair. The last three seemed to be shaking as I advanced, tears dripping from my face.
The first, I target the gut, then pulled my blade up, organs falling out, the next, straight threw the head.

I was crying so hard I was shaking, but I refused to let out the smallest of a whimper.
The last guy was smaller than the rest, and he held a gun in his hand as he trembled.
He wore a bandana on his head, and had blond hair and sky blue eyes. He was 'normal'. It amazed me to find a person so boring. But he was perfect.
"Please..." He whispered, terrified, "Show mercy.. I'll do anything..."
I look down at him, my hair shading my eyes, my black lips not showing any signs of a grin nor frown.

"Shoot me." I say, in my calm, accented voice.

He stared up, wide eyed, then swallowed.
I heard his gun make a clicking sound as it was loaded.
I didn't see the gun move, but the bullet, I heard, whistling through the air as it came ripping towards my forehead.
My sword's blade blocked it a second and a half before contact, sending the bullet off in the opposite direction, inches from his head.
"Join my crew." I say in a simple tone, "And I shall allow you to live."
He gulped again, his eyes still wide with terror, and gave a single nod.
"State your name."
"Hato"He breathes, still trembling, "Hato Tero."
"Valdis." I respond, extending a hand, covered in blood.
He hesitantly took it.
I gave it a firm shake, then pulled him to his feet.
I turn, and look at Kiti, in her human form, hands on her hips, she'd witnessed the entire thing.
We exchange a nod and then, the three of us, head into town.

I stand in the center of the road, at the entrance to the town, the villagers in tight groups, whispering.

Most anyway.

These clusters made it simple for me to pluck out the relentless, the 'fearless'.
Or, perhaps, the stupid.
The ones that refused the clusters, and the ones who moved along as if it was a normal day were the ones I shall strive for.
The guy behind me seemed to have regained himself, standing tall, acting as if nothing had happened, a mean looking scowl on his face.
I almost giggled at the sight.
Which would of been odd enough, considering I was covered with half dried blood, and was a woman pirate.

Most judge to easily when it comes to what I have the power to do.
