The man with the long coat strides down the long hallway of his submarine, his expression unreadable.
His eyes had dark bags under them...
He was deep in thought.
His attention had been caught.... not caught.... but forced into noticing the ship of blue sailing off in the distance.
There was something, or... someone, on that ship.
Life changing events soon to take place.

But he simply couldn't decipher what.

Good or Bad.

Something that would help or harm him, and his crew.

Correct, his crew, he was a captain.
Not a captain...
The captain.
The captain of the Heart Pirates.
The sound of small feet came tearing down the hallway.
She stopped in front of him, her cape swooshing back and forth and she catches her breath.
"Captain!" She said, "There's a ship on the horizon. Seemingly sailing parallel with us."
"I am aware." He said, his voice board.
"Shall we prepare an attack?"
"No." He said, the girls firm expression unchanging, "We'll wait. For now."
It was an odd answer for the pirate captain.
The girl gave a simple nod, "Aye, Captain."
She began to walk away but her captain decided to say something more.
"Stay alert, Miki-ya."
"Aye." said the blue haired girl, addressed as Miki.
He looked down upon the tiny girl for a moment before carrying on forward.
He then stopped again, "Actually..." He turned and looked upon the girl.
In a few steps he had her head tilted upward, his hand lightly on her chin, pushing her head up so their eyes could meet.
She didn't flinch.
The corners of his lips turn up in the smallest bit.
"I have a job for you."
She nods, not even asking what the task would be. Ready for practically anything.

Minutes later, in a flash of light, the girl landed lightly and silently on the ship's deck.

The cat girl in the crow's nest not noticing the new person aboard the ship.
She crept silent as the night sky, toward the room in which a girl lay trying to sleep.
The girl seemingly began to glow.
Miki took in this black haired girl with curiosity.
She was no normal human.
This much she knew... this girl was special.
But in what ways?
She had yet to find out what her instinct already knew.

Back upon the submarine, the Surgeon of Death sat at his desk, not doing anything of importance, his scalpel being spun round his fingers.
Then he looked up, wide eyed, mouth open, the scalpel falling to the floor as something struck him... pulse inside him.
No... not him... his soul....
Something that made him gasp for breath, shaking.

Little did he know what had just begun.
