--- Gregory's POV ---

"Ahhhh!" I screamed and ran away from the box man that was chasing me. It wasn't a scream of terror, however. It was a scream of joy. Followed by a loud crash and some laughter. Box friend and I have been playing this game for days now. Hide and seek, it never gets old! It wasn't very fun the first time, but its so much fun now!! Knifey and Box friend don't get along very well, but they seem to be nice to each either when I'm around.

Just then, I heard someone open the big front doors and walk in. "Box fwiend..? Is somewone hwere?" I gasped, maybe it was mama!! I ran down the stairs, but it almost seemed like I was floating down them. I stopped half way down to see why it felt that way, then froze completely when I heard someone talk. "Hello..?" I couldn't see a face, or even a body, from where I was standing. All I could see were two shiny, black shoes. They turned as if they were looking around the room, but they didn't leave from their spot. I crouched down on the stairs, causing them to creak slightly. The shoes immediately turned in my direction. "Is someone there??" Too afraid to speak, I bent over abit further to see who the shoes belonged to, causing another creak. The only problem then, is that the creaking seemed to scare the shoes. They backed up, like they were protecting their owner. I still couldn't see anything else except the shoes.

I sighed and stared at the shoes. They were small, like mine, but they were bigger than mine too. It must be a boy like me! Its been so long since I've seen a person! I got overly excited and ran down the stairs, with Box friend following me like he always does. The boy stepped back, almost like he was afraid of me. In all honesty, I was afraid too. I don't rememeber much about people, but box friend tells me that they're mean. I didn't get too close, and I didn't say anything. I just stared at the boy, smiling. He had black hair and some pretty looking clothes. Mine were dirty and ripped, but his were fancy and clean. Not wrinkle on them. Then I noticed that he had pretty blue eyes. Just like the sky! I didn't know eyes could be blue!

The boy looked down at some machines he was carrying and then back up at me. I came over to him and tried to look at the machine too, but he backed away and held them away from me. I frowned and backed away too. I guess box friend was right, people are mean. He lowered his machine and stared at me. He looked like he felt bad and he held out the machine to me. "Sorry.. you can look if you want." I didn't notice it before, but he talks funny. I giggled lightly and walked over to him. I looked at his machine. It looked like one of those metal cans that box friend gets food out of, mixed with the TV in our living room. Its actually kinda cool. I gasped when I saw it. It had pictures on it!! I grinned and stood on my toes to get a better look. It had lines and dots on it, almost like a map!

The boy laughed a little and made the pictures go away. It scared me though, because before they went away, the screen made a bright flash of white. I screamed and jumped back, and at the same time, Box friend jumped in front of me. The boy jumped back as well, pulling out another machine. It looked like that one toy in the back yard that you fill with water and then press the button. When you press the button, water comes out. But water hurts box friend! I don't think that's what he had, but that's what it looked like! I whimpered and hid behind box friend. The boy had the machine pointed at box friend, but slowly lowered it. Box friend stayed still as I came out from behind him. Now standing and my friend's side, I stared at the boy. He looked scared, but I don't know why. We were both wondering who the other was, but neither of us asked.

"Hi..." he sheepishly waved at me, and I waved back. "What're you doing here?" I responded with a blank stare. I didn't want to talk to him, just in case he was mean. The boy sighed, "Can you talk?" I titled my head, acting like I couldn't. "Oh... okay..." he cleared his throat and looked around. I followed him as he walked around, hiding behind something every time he looked my way. He always refered to me as 'ghost'. It was weird, but I got used to it quickly.

"So, ghost, is this your home?" He looked over at me. I quickly hid behind a nearby lamp then peeked out and nodded. "I see..." he continued walking around and then looked out the window. "Uh-oh... its almost dark! Oh, mother is going to be upset! I have to go, ghost!" Before I could respond, he ran out the front door and down the road, leaving me behind.

I watched him run until I couldn't see him anymore. Once he was gone, I sighed and sat on the couch. "He was nice, box fwiend... I guess not all people are mean..." Box friend sighed and agreed. "It's rare to fwind somewone who is nice though, Gwegowy." I nodded and layed down. "I gwess I'm wucky then," I yawned, "that boy was nice..." I thought about that boy more, trying to think if he ever told me his name. I couldn't remember him ever saying it though, so I rolled over and quickly fell asleep.
