--- Jimmy's POV ---

It's been six months since Gregory has... died... I still can't say that without tearing up. Of course, I'd feel like a monster if I could say that my brother was dead without any emotion at all.

My anger issues seem to be under control now. I don't randomly lash out on people anymore. People are still scared of me in school, but some people seem to want to atleast try talking to me. There's this one girl there... Katrina I think is her name. She likes talking to me. She's the only one that actually talks to me.. on a regular basis anyway. We don't talk about much.. usually we just swap funny stories or give each other advice for life in general. I think she's one of the main reasons I have calmed down so much. The only thing I don't like about her, is that she constantly brings up things about dead people and ghosts and stuff like that. I don't really like that stuff in the first place, but even if I did, it just... it reminds me of my mom and Greg... I don't think she realizes that I had a brother once.. or that my mom is dead. I mean, this is a new school after all. No one here knows anything about me really. They just think I'm living with my grandparents, which I am, but I don't think they know why. And if they do, then everyone here is a jerk. But I can't be mad at Katrina. She doesn't know any better. If she knew, I'm sure she wouldn't mention it.

"Jimmy!" a voice snapped me away from my thoughts. I turned around to see Katrina running down the hall, weaving through the masses of people, "Hey, Katrina...!" She smiled and stopped infront of me, slightly out of breath. She took a drink from the water fountain then looked up at me, "How are you doing?" "Oh, uh.." I was actually a pretty shy kid in public, not that you'd ever believe that, "I'm fine, thanks." She nodded and looks at her feet. She was going to ask for something, I could tell by the way she was standing. Her arms behind her back, her head tilted down, her feet facing inwards. I sighed, "What is it this time?"
"Well... my mom has to leave town tonight for an important meeting or something and all of my friends are busy so..."
"So...?" I tilted my head, pretending not to understand.
"Well, mom is going to be back late tonight but..."
"But what?"
"Well.. I was hoping I could stay with you and your grandparents until mom came home. I already asked her and she said she would be alright with that. It's up to you and your grandparents though.." I just stared at her. "Uhh... sure, fine with me. B--" she jumped on me, hugging my and thanking me at the same time then let go and backed away. She didn't really think about 'personal space' much. She was so open..! I wish I could be like that... "Sorry, I know you don't like hugs, I was just to happy..." "It's fine," I shook my head and fixed my hair, "but, as I was saying, I'm fine with it, but it's up to my grandparents. I'm sure they'll say yes though..."

The school say went on as usual, lunch was a disaster, the math teacher scolded me for being such a 'horrible student', the reading teacher embarrassed me again by making me read the longest paragraph in the chapter, despite knowing that I can't read well, and the boys bullied me at the end of gym. Just a normal day in the life of Jimmy Casket... On time, like usual, the school bell rang and the kids jumped out of their seats. They got their stuff and ran to the exits, most of them running home since they lived so close. I had to wait for my grandparents to pick me up, however. I sat on the bench, watching the school busses come and go. One by one, they all came and left. Katrina sat next to me, waiting with me for my grandparents to arrive. They arrived soon after the last bus left and got out. After a few minutes of talking, I convinced them to allow Katrina to come home with us. We both grinned and thanked them both, jumping into he van.
