CHAPTER 5

- Zeki's POV

"Clearly the Domi Society have a different meaning to aid, than the rest of reality. This is terrible." chips in Dese.

Glancing at Sap, he has a troubled expression on his face, scrunched up eyebrows, tight lips, frown lines apparent. The thinking face or it could be the worry face. That professor ripped the poor guy apart. He's such a goody two shoes. Strange though, a professor talking to him like that.

What did they expect anyway, that we wouldn't ask questions, after that bombshell of a mission request? Kidnap children. What the hell would they want with them? Couldn't they just go to the academy at take some from there? Of course not, that's far too easy, they are the Domi Society remember, so they must make everything difficult for everyone else.

All they did was sit on their backside dishing out impossible missions and then dishing out the evitable punishments so they could have their daily dose of getting their sadistic pleasure of watching people suffer and then when they're really craving, they'll kill a couple of dozen.

Suddenly Sap breaks into a smirk. What is wrong with him? He just got word slammed by a proffessor he idols, like ten minutes ago.

"I've solved it! I did!" Sap triphantly annouces to us, bouncing on his seat, with so much pride and excitement.

"What, already?" Dese asks sitting up, looking impressed.

Well, I am a little impressed myself, that was a quick one.I bet it was geek heaven for him. I really should drag him out more often.

"Yes. Right, OK. There is a girl, who lives in the city of London. She is poor, indicated by the word "destitue" and phrase "Absent of wealth, prosperity." She's in a bright part of the city, " remains surrounded by light". The girl lives among the "kind", mankind obviously as she is living in the city. I think there is a subtle hint here, that she lives among the Norms: people that don't have powers.

The last line "Too ignorant and destitute to know what is right"   portrays that she doesn't know she has powers, assuming she has powers. This is point is evidenltly displayed here, "rearing with strength and magnificent power."

Does anyone have anything to add?" Sap rapidly explains, indicating to each part on the thin parchment, taking a breath when he finishes in record time, beaming with relief.

I reach over and give him a fist bump. Good ol' Sap saving our butts.

Dese shakes her head and smiles at him. I didn't know she could do that, she actually looks sane when she smiles, all her bitterness evaporating.

"Well done Sap. We'll start in London, since we're in it" Dese declares, as if we have any choice.

"Yes the storm seems to be ending. Let's get going and see what drama enfolds before our eyes." Sap agrees.

Hopefully, we'll actually find the kid and not be attacked by our stalker club, which seems to be growing every year. Maybe we shouldn't offend too many people but that's the fun of it. Who would have known, they were going to take revenge? What happened to forgive and forget?

"Wahay let's go. Can't wait to babysit." I say out loud in a flat voice, anything but looking forward to our adventure this year.

"Guess what? This will be a great learning experience for you Zeki and probably your only one, as you'll see what looking after kids is really like because no woman will ever willingly stay with you for the rest of your life, nevermind have a family with you." Dese says grinning at me, whilst sliding her black leather jacket on.

Oh, she didn't just go there. We've both had our sticky relationship problems but the last one was the worst. I can't believe I was going to marry Charlotte. Why does she have to bring it up, now?

"Well you've been with me for years, so getting a real woman won't be that hard." I reply, giving her a wink.

"Unwillingly. Just because I can make people think I'm someone else doesn't mean I'm not a woman. Besides if you didn't have me, you would be dead, with all your various minuscule body parts scattered, all over the world."

"Dude you are a flippin' mutation. Nice to know that you think so highly of yourself, since nobody in this room does."

There, that should shut her up. Victory rages through me. Yes I have won this time.

Her face goes bright red and her blue eyes expand twice in size.

Opps. I think I took it too far. But she says worse stuff to me. I'm sure she will get over it. She always does. Please don't kill me in my sleep, Dese. We're all mutations in a way so it wasn't that harsh.

"At least she doesn't have an ego that's bridging on to self obsession. Now come on let's go and nab some kids" Sap interjects.

Thanks mate much appreciated for the support. Take her side. I don't care.
