Zeki's POV
Everything hurts. When did I fall? Images flash through my eyes, wrong twin, party, Cocoa, Butter sifting. Not one of those did I get hurt. Did we even sift back?
I open my eyes but they refuse to open, something is restraining them. A cloth? My arms and legs feel stiff maybe implying I'm tied down. My mouth won't open. Right so I'm blind, tied up and muted.
Surprising that I'm calm and collected in this circumstance, I should be freaking out and thrashing around but maybe it is the fact that I can't control any of my limbs and it almost feels like a dream. Dark, no memory of getting here, lost. But the throbbing pain coursing through the body, indicates that this is very much reality. I'm stuck somewhere and I am clueless in what to do. What a great situation I'm in now, right?
I yell through the cloth that is obstructing my mouth, I need to know if someone is here. Maybe they can hear me and get me out. There's no reply. Where am I? My shouts are muffled so I can't get a feel of how big the space I'm contained in. I wriggle my arms to loosen the rooms but my heart sinks when I hear clattering. Chains. Charming. I can't untangle myself either now.
"So you're awake? About time too, was going to start burning you." a baritone voice speaks calmly, humour absence from it.
Is he for real? I would have kicked his twisted ass if he burnt a single hair on me, as soon as I get myself out of these restraints. My back straight against a hard floor or wall, my arms bent backwards, my legs, well I can't really tell what is happening to them right now.
The blindfold is released, my eyes snap open, taking in the full glare of the extremely bright room, disorientating my vision. I rapidly blink a few times, trying to clear the dancing shapes before them.
Everyone is chained to a metal wall, with chains protruding out of them spanning the whole length of the room. Sap, Dese, Love, Butter and Cocoa. I bellow through the bind wrapped around my mouth to get their attention. Dese is covered with raw cuts, blood brimming out of them, Sap looks a little less beaten up but appears very ill, all pale, sweaty, eyes drooping. What the hell has he done to them? The children are unconscious but don't look that unharmed, maybe a little disheveled; hair tousled, dirt smudged, clothes wrinkled. I don't know how the hell they are in this state but someone is in deep shit for it.
I need to get out of this, I pull on the chains clasped around my arms and ankles, hopefully they will dislocate from the wall, with my strength. Come on move. Instead all I end up doing is creating the thick metal chains rattle.
I fist connects with my face, whipping my head to the side, my head spins for seconds, breaking me out of my urgency to free myself. I let out a gasp, the force causing the material wrapped around my mouth to loosen, releasing my mouth. Blood floods my mouth, I spit it out hastily to rid the sickening metallic taste floating in my mouth.
"You were always a fidgeter, Zeki." The bearded man standing to the side looks down at me with disdain. Does he know me? Do I know him? Why the hell did he just attempt to make me toothless?
"Who the flip are you?" I grunt. A sharp blow shatters through my side. Shit that hurt. I unsuccessfully suppress the groan. You wouldn't expect a forty year old man dressed in red robes to have that much strength. In fact you wouldn't expect a man that looks like he has lived his life with books to be so violent.
"Manners now boy." The man shakes his head with an mischievous glint in his eye. Is he enjoying beating me up? What a sadist.
"You don't deserve any." I shoot back. He ain't gonna get any respect from me. He's freaken' chained all of us to a wall. I get another kick to the side as a reply. I can see at the corner of my eye Dese and Sap flinching at that kick. I cough up more blood. Gee thanks psycho for breaking a rib. I hold in the pain, he can't see how much this is killing me. I need to be strong. Come on man up Zeki.
