Dese's POV
"You guys, are in so much foorrkin shit." Love exclaims. Yes thank you for that life-shattering statement.
"How could this happen?" I cry, pushing all my weight against the worktop.
"If you had let him talk, he would have told us his power." Sap accusingly glares at me, his face pale as he points to Drizzle, rather rudely.
"So this is my fault? You should be glad that I woke him up because we would still be there whilst you tell him his whole life story as well as the rest of ours." I furiously reply. How could he say that?
"This-"
"What is happening?" Drizzle sits up, confused interrupting Sapien.
"Shut up! This is all our faults, we jumped to conclusions. Dese your coming with me back to Drizzle's house." Zeki's voice ripping through the room, it completely blanks Drizzle and the sharp comeback on the tip of my tongue. "Butter the power is still on, can you sift us?" Zeki continues turning towards Butter, who is sitting on the chair subdued by the tension suffocating the room. Butter nods his reply nervously, not quite how sure to react towards him encase he gets yelled at. I guess from his perceptive, we're scary as hell when we are pissed off.
"Right let's go. There's nothing we can do now, hopefully the Society have a slow clock." Zeki stands up abruptly in a sternly and I follow taking each other's hand as we sift. We must control the damage done.
The electricity is still out but, regardless people are still gathered in the house, dancing, chatting and doing other explicit actions that Butter is too young to witness, whilst someone is singing acoustically in a raspy out of tune way. Zeki stomps in the direction of the kitchen, shoving people out of the way, where we last deserted Cocoa.
"You couldn't resist me Zeekkkii." an obnoxiously loud, giggling Cocoa slurs happily over the hum of people, as she leans against a wall probably for support more than to look cool.
"You're drunk!" Zeki spins around shock evident in his accusation. "We only left you for like fifteen minutes. How the hell have you managed to be completely wreaked?"
"I'm just so good that." The haziness disappears from her eyes as she looks at us, replaced with sadness and anger. It appears that she is not drunk as we first thought, apart from the wave of alcohol erupting from her, as we approach.
"Is everything OK Cocoa?" I ask hesitantly, taken aback by the sudden change in her emotional state.
"I am now." She looks up to Zeki through her eyelashes, all the intense emotions vanishing within seconds.
Is this girl Bipolar?
"Looks like it." Butter mumbles next to me. I must have said that out loud.
"Right we don't have time to sober you up but you have to come with us Cocoa." Zeki states completely ignoring Cocoa's now cringy attraction to him.
"I'll go anyway with you, you're hot." She stumbles towards him, tripping over her feet in the process but Zeki catches her before she falls. Cocoa splutters "You're my hero."
"You need glasses honey because I'm far from that." Zeki mutters as he lets go of her.
Right this is getting too much,I'm feeling slightly sick.. Butter makes a vomiting sound next me, I hastily cover my smirk. Zeki looks very awkward and confused not knowing how to handle this situation. This is hilarious, I'm finding to much joy in Zeki's obvious discomfort. I need to pull myself together, we have a deadly penalty hanging over our heads and the possible threat of the three teenagers we have been hunting might be killed but instead I'm desperately trying hard not to laugh. Maybe it's the hysteria settling in.
"Come on let's go, Butter will you do the honours?" I ask deciding to drag Zeki out of his embarrassment of being hit on by a drunk girl. I bet that's the only time that happens.
"Here?" Butter asks surprise in the middle of the candle lit crowded corridor.
"Yes. That's what here means at a specific place." I explain suppressing my impatience.
"But people will see us." Butter whispers looking cautiously around him.
"Look kid, it literally pitch black and people are drunk. They'll probably think they were hallucinating or something." Zeki snaps.
I shoot Zeki a stern look. Chill out. Butter nods. We grab each other's hand.
A sharp pang penetrates through my head, a shriek echoes around me as my legs collapse underneath me. Darkness swallows me before I touch the floor.
