CHAPTER 11

- Zeki's POV

"Where are we going?" I ask trying to get over the awkward silence, that seems to surround us, preventing anything to go past it, as we walk down the empty, dark, cobbled road.

"I was doing some research and I found this newspaper article, about how people have seen a moving light across the city." replies Sap digging into his green jacket pocket.

"Well it could be a car, that someone has managed to have kept." I helpfully suggest.

"No, how would they find petrol to run it for every night? Also when people try to find it, there is nothing there, so it can't be a car. Where can they possibly hide it? Here read this."

He hands me a a neatly folded piece of paper and I stop underneath a lamp. It read out loud:

"White Light Haunts City

A mysterious white light that seems to float across the city, has been spotted by many people but the source of this bright light is unknown. It was first noticed two weeks ago, gliding through a narrow street,so the possibility that it is a some vehicle is very low, as there is not enough oil to run it for this long. This unexplained mystery has arisen the curiosity of some individuals that a group has been formed. They call themselves the "Light Hunters", whom adventure out every night trying to hunt down this light source, that has befuddled the city."

"So you think this light is the girl that 'burns so bright.'?" I question, eyebrow scrunched up.

I have to admit I'm slightly skeptic of this, it's going to be a long shot.

"Apparently, according to Sapien." Dese coldly snipes.

Well, they clearly haven't got over yesterday's argument.

"OK. So how is our little hunt going to go? Are we going to split up because she could be anywhere?" I say glancing at Sap, since this is all his idea.

"No actually the "Light hunters" have frequent postings of where the light was spotted last, so we are going to go to that place."

Well, this group is pretty organized, for a bunch of amateurs. I wonder what they are going to do with whatever it is. If it is the kid they'll be in for a delightful surprise.

"If it is the kid and she is alone then why is she running away from people searching for her. I mean how hard is it to find a kid, that emits light? Unless, she's purposely avoiding them." the thought occurring to me, suddenly.

"Wouldn't you, if you were some kid that has some big scary looking people, trying to hunt you down with whatever sharp weapons, they are carrying? Oh yeah, forgot, you're stupid enough to impale yourself on the sharp weapons." Dese says, rolling her eyes.

"How do you know they are big scary people, carrying sharp weapons? Oh wait, I coincidentally forgot, you are rashly judgmental." Sap barks at Dese.

Ouch!

"So what chance do we have, that she won't run away from us?" intentionally ignoring the jab.

Hopefully if I ignore the frigidness between the two, it might disappear.

"Well er...that's where Dese comes in. You have to put an image of yourself, that is younger and more welcoming version of yourself." Sap loosens up slightly, looking slightly sheepish as he realizes, he needs Dese's help.

"NO way! Get lost. I'm not doing anything for you." She denies vehemently shaking her head.

She will or I'm going to make her. I'm not letting anything get in the way of this mission. I want it over and done with, the quicker the better.
