I sit criss cross in front of my trunk and open it up. I instantly look for the bag that contains my dress. Today is the Honorary Yule Ball and it's Christmas. I glance over at my clock and see that it's 6. I really need to get dressed. The dance starts at 7:30 and ends at midnight.
I think back to last week. Last week Albus got hit in the head with a buldger. I honestly surprised that he didn't get a concussion.
I finally hear the crunch of the bag. It's kinda a pain to have an endless trunk. But it's not even that heavy. I pull out the bag and carefully take my dress out of the bag. I run my fingers over the golden colored fabric, admiring the smoothness and beauty of it.
After I change into it I start the search for my shoes. As my fingers finally grasp them I look at the clock. 6:29. I have to tell Rose when it's 6:30. I look over to her bed where she was reading before. I laugh a little then shake my sleeping friend's shoulder.
"Rose, wake up, it's 6:30." I say as I shake her awake.
"Okay I'm up," Rose says groggily. As she rubs her eyes I slip on my matching gold heels.
Don't ask me why I chose heels for my shoes, and I know I will regret it by the end of tonight but whatever. As I slip the last shoe on I hear Rose searching for her dress and stuff. She pulls on her Burgundy dress and combat boots.
"Out of all shoes you choose combat boots?" I say.
"You think I would wear heels?" She asks and I nod. She has a good point.
As I reach for my purse and hair stuff I hear Rose leave the room. I quickly brush my hair out then take my bag of hair clips, spray, accessories and other stuff and make my way down the stairs to the common room. I see a few girls sitting around in their dresses helping with each other's hair and I walk out heading towards the bathroom. Once I reach it I start to work on my own hair. Instead of using magic I prefer the 'old fashioned way'. So that means using a hair straightener, curler, dryer and hair spray. Once I'm done I must admit that my hair looks amazing. I have a golden brown braid crown and ringlets falling out from beneath it. I smile at my reflection in the mirror and apply a quick layer of lip gloss and spray a little bit of perfume around me.
As I head back to the common room I see Scorpius leaving from the painting.
"Hey Scorpius," I say knowing that he went to see Rose.
"Hey Alice, you look nice." He says.
"Thanks, you too." I say watching him look over his shoulder at the painting to the common room.
"Yeah..." He says sounding far off.
"Okay, well I'll see you later I guess. Bye," I say quickly says the password and shutting the painting door behind me.
"Hey Rose!" I say seeing her seated on a couch alone.
"Oh hey," she says smiling.
"Nice job on your hair." She says looking at my hair.
"Thanks. I'm so excited for the dance!" I say grinning widely.
"Well of course you are. Your seeing your boyfriend." She says smirking making me feel a blush rise to my cheeks.
"No, just friend." I say quickly feeling sad that we aren't dating.
"Speaking of boyfriends," I say quickly not letting her say anything.
"I just say Scorpius leaving the common room, and thought, now what might he be doing in the Gryffindor common room hm?" I say teasingly and wiggling my eyebrows.
"Shut up. He just came to say hi," Rose says modestly.
"Sure he did. Sure he did." I say holding back my laughter.

A little while later at around 7 I find myself walking silently through the library. As I pass the desks and shelves I realize that almost all of the people that are not going to the Honorary Yule Ball have left for Christmas. I don't mind not being home for Christmas but I would rather be at home that at school, even if it is Hogwarts. That's one of the perks of having a parent that's a Professor. Because a lot of kids get homesick but I have my dad.
I suddenly smile thinking of the hot chocolate he used to make me when I was little. He said that it would heal any sickness, because I always had it when I was sick.
"Alice?" I hear someone call my name. I look up and see Jeffery. He is a centaur but I don't know why he's here.
"Jeffery! Why are you here, not that I am not happy to see you," I rush quickly. I kind of think of Jeffery as my second big brother. He's always looking out for me when I am in the Dark Forest.
"I came to warn you, Voldemort has a daughter-"
"What's her name! What does she look like? What house is she in? Is she evil-"
"Woah. Slow down," Jeffery says after I interrupt him.
"I don't know the answers to any of those questions but I do know that she has a nose." He says laughing to himself. I get the joke but that's rude.
"Jeffery," I say glaring at him.
"Fine. But seriously, no one knows who her mom is though. Apparently her mom went into hiding once Tom became Voldemort then she might have died but no one knows." He says carefully.
"Well they shouldn't if she went into hiding then she could have used magic-"
"But that's the thing. The girls mom was a muggle. We were able to smell and hear her paying respects at her grandfather's grave. Then saying 'Grandfather' while she assumed she was alone." Jeffery says.
"You have to be careful. She will be at you party thing tonight." He says looking around nervously.
"I have to tell Rose, Albus and Scorpius. They might be the only ones who can help. Thank you Jeffery." I say turning around to go warn my friends. This is going to be an exciting night. Unfortunately.
