"That was so much fun!" Alice gushes happily. We just started walking back to Hogwarts from Hogsmade and I must agree with Alice. It was fun.
I glance down as I see a little bit of ice on the ground and carefully walk over it.
"Eeek!" I hear Alice scream. I quickly turn around and catch her before she falls. I laugh a little and help her up. She smiles at me warmly and I can't help but smile back.
"Ahem. Excuse me love birds but we need to get back to Hogwarts." Rose says laughing at us.
"Oh yeah! What about you and Scorpius." I shoot back. Noticing the googly eyes that they make at each other.
"I don't know what your talking about Potter." Rose say giving me a death stare. I just glare back but on the inside I'm on the ground laughing because I found another of my cousins dreaded weaknesses.
"Hey lets just go back now that I'm not falling," Alice says looking worriedly between me and Rose. My heart sinks. I forgot about how much Alice hates our arguments. I feel my face soften and start to walk in front of Rose, Scorpius and Alice.
I hear the crunching of ice as someone comes up behind me the walking in pace with me. I keep my head down just because I don't feel like talking to Rose.
"Hey. Why have you been so grumpy lately?" I hear Alice ask as she nudges my arm. Oh. This. Yay.
"Because." I say simply looking up to see Alice stopped in front of me trying to force me to slow down. I walk around her. I really don't want to talk about this.
Okay I admit I have been distant lately. And rude. Ever since hearing that I won't be able to go home for Christmas and that I'll have to stay here at Hogwarts. Also the fact that Alice, Rose and Scorpius won't be staying at Hogwarts with me. I guess that they'll just come back for the Honorary Yule Ball.
Once we reach Hogwarts it's snowing and no one has said anything for a while. I walk past Scorpius, Rose and Alice. I feel them watching me as I make my way to the dungeon to the common room.
"Hey Al! Wait up." Scorpius calls from behind me. I slow down and wait for him to catch up the keep walking down the stairs.
"What was that." Scorpius spits while I focus on my shoes to avoid looking at him.
"You totally crushed Alice, what's up with that?! One moment love sick puppy next dementer!" He fumes next to me.
"What's your deal. You can't just go around and hurt the people you care about." Scorp sighs leaving me at the entrance to our common room. I know I was a jerk and that I need to apologize but I don't know how. I make my way into the guys dormitory and go to bed skipping dinner. I don't know what I am going to do at the quiddich match tomorrow.
As the team lines up to go out onto the field Marcus Grinde makes his famous inspirational speech.
"Remember keep your head down and be on the look out for the buldger. Now let's go kick some butt!" He cheers getting a cheer from everyone on the team except me.
As everyone runs out onto the field I look at the Gryffindor people in the stands and see that Alice looks tired. She has pits under her eyes and her eyes are red like she had been crying. I can't bear it I look away frowning and filling with guilt.
"Rose called me to help yesterday." Scorpius says running next to me.
"I guessed." I say simply looking at the person's head in front of me.
"Let the games begin!" Hooch calls into the microphone. I hop onto my broom and fly a little more than 30 feet into the air.
I look over at the Hufflepuff team and immediately recognize Scorpius's little bubbly friend. Who would've guessed. Phoebe plays quiddich."Albus!" I hear someone sob. Whare am I? All I remember is that halfway through the game I saw a buldger coming towards me- oh. Well now I know why my head hurts so bad. I slowly open my eyes, blinking a few times to try to adjust to the lighting.
"Albus! I have to see him let me through!" I hear a familiar voice cry.
"Alice?" I say, my voice surprisingly weak. I sit up then wince as my head starts to throb. I see a familiar red head, Scorpius, and Alice trying to push their way through all my teammates that have surrounded me.
"All of you! Return to you dormitorys. Weasly, Longbottom, and Malfoy, you will join you friends momentarily. But I think Albus here would like to see you all." I hear Professor McGonagall cry out over my rushed friends.
"Albus!" Alice says pushing through the leaving crowd.
"I'm so sorry." I start off.
"Don't worry I am too." Alice says sitting next to me on the infarmary bed. I lay down carefully and feel Alice's cold hand carefully placed in mine. I look up at her and see her watching me, gentle to make sure not to hurt me.
"Hehm." Scorpius coughs snapping my attention to him and Rose who was fake barfing. I roll my eyes as I watch her finally notice me looking at her, turning red.
"Well someone missed you." Rose says looking away awkwardly.
"We had to hold her back. I swear she would have killed me." Scorpius says backing Rose up.
