A/N: Awwww come on!! ya knew this was gonna happen!! xD enjoy!

There were a few seconds of awkward silence and it was obvious everyone was upset with Janson for interrupting the moment. Madeline on the contrary, was relieved that Janson entered. She had no idea what she would have said to Thomas. Did she love him?

"Now. Come on. Let's go, kids." Janson motioned them, a hint of annoyance in his usually calm voice. Thomas shot a desperate glance towards Madeline but she ignored it, immediately regretting her decision when she saw a look of hurt flash across his face.

"We'll talk later." She whispered, trying to make the situation better. Thomas nodded and let go of Madeline's hands. She stood up, facing the Gladers who stared at her with pity and sadness. She looked over at Janson and tried to smile.

"Lead the way."

Madeline had no idea where she was. Well, she knew where she was. She was in a refuge. A place that rescues people.. from Wicked. That's all she knew. But the room she was in, she was utterly lost at what she was looking at. It seemed like a lab room. Dark, eerie, smelling of medicine, metal, and machinery. Computers lined the walls and their active screens were bright compared to the darkness of the room. The Gladers were together in a huddle, exploring the place round them. Madeline was startled out her deep thought when Janson suddenly said her name.

Apparently he was big on interrupting people.

"Madeline. I know you are going through a lot, so I decided to cheer you up." He gave a sly smile and Madeline shivered. She didn't like this guy for some reason.

"How?" She said cooly.

"Well, like I said earlier, I wanted you to meet someone." Janson's smile didn't move. Madeline eyed him suspiciously.

"Well..?" She said. Janson turned around and a faint sound of footsteps was heard in the distance. Madeline tried to peek behind the old man to see the "mysterious person". She heard Janson speak some inaudible words and turn back around to face her.

"Madeline..." He said as if he was about to continue to say "I would like you to meet..." But instead he smiled and Madeline stood there in worry. Why was the person hiding behind Janson?

Janson motioned and the person stepped out. Before Madeline could control herself, she had screamed out.

Peter.

It was obviously him. He looked the exact same, except taller and more mature. His toffee colored brown hair was still the exact same length, it came just below his ears and curled on the end. His bright green orbs shone out, even in the darkness of the room. But..

Peter is dead...?

Madeline felt something come over her that felt too familiar. The "Syndrome".

"Pe..." She stopped. Peter smiled at her and stepped forward, causing Madeline to step back. It must be a ghost. Her head felt dizzy and she blinked several times to keep herself conscious.

"You...-"

"Peter?" Thomas said in shock. Peter's soft eyes shifted and landed on Thomas'.

"Hello Thomas." He said calmly, but Madeline could see the bitterness in his eyes.

"Peter..." She said his name with a hint of questioning in it.

"Hi Madds." Madeline didn't know whether to cry or scream. But she didn't believe it. Peter died.

She saw him die in her arms. She had so many questions and things she wanted to say but she felt like her insides were forcing her to stay quiet.

"We have a special treatment here. It can only be used once, and we were able to bring him back." Janson put his hand on Peter's shoulder and shook the boy softly. Madeline blinked a few more times as her brain began to throb. It was happening.

She told herself that she was going to fight it as she felt it building up inside of her. Insanity. Why? Was it triggered because she saw a person from the past? Peter stepped forward and Madeline flinched, but stood still as she fought the Syndrome. Her fingers twitched and she felt really ill.

"I've missed you..." Peter said softly as he began to walk towards her slowly. Madeline replayed the images of Peter dying over and over and over in her head. She grabbed Peter's necklace around her neck. She wanted to reply but her throat was dry and she ended up just staring in shock.

"Madeline?" Newt questioned. He knew. He knew she was experiencing an error. Madeline began to feel helpless as her breath shook and her vision blurred.

"Madeline?" Suddenly Peter was inches from her face. He put his hand on her shoulder and a spark of terror shot inside of Madeline causing her to scream a psychotic shriek. She pulled away from Peter's grasp and an unreadable expression flashed across his face. Janson stepped forward next to Peter.

"Madeline.. I know this is hard but-" He shouldn't have touched her. She immediately screamed again and reached out for one person. Thomas.

"Thomas!" She screamed, but Janson grabbed hold of her.

She lost it.

Something triggered inside of her and she began to squeal, kick and claw at Janson's hands wrapped around her waist from behind. What Madeline was feeling inside of her was almost indescribable. She completely lost herself in a world of chaos. She had no control over her body movements or thoughts. A sharp pain shot through her brain from the left side of her head and it all made sense. The chip.

"Thomas! Thomas!!" Madeline screamed, her voice sounded like it was coming from a girl that belonged in an asylum. It was high-pitched and it echoed through the room. Terrible memories and visions of deaths she had experienced flashed through her head and she only wanted one person. As she fought and kicked Janson's strong grasp, she threw her small hand out in front of her, signaling the one person she desired. She had done the exact same thing just days ago, as she was close to death and experiencing a brain attack.

"Thomas!" She could barely see him through her blurred vision as her eyes rolled back into her head. Her breath was wheezing and she was shaking all over.

"Let her go!" A familiar strong voice was heard. It was Thomas. "She's experiencing an attack! Just let her be!" Janson gripped Madeline harder and she shrieked in protest.

"No! She wants me!" Thomas walked forward but Peter stepped in front of him. Because of his maturity, Peter was now as tall as Thomas which forced the two to look at each other eye-to-eye.

"You don't understand what's happening to her, you'll make it worse!" Peter yelled and Thomas' face turned red. He pushed Peter out of the way and grabbed Madeline's outstretched hand which was no dangling in the air with hopelessness as the girl struggled to keep it up.

Madeline's attack had faded and her body was limp in Janson's arms.

"You don't know what you're doing Thomas." Peter said firmly. He was ignored and Thomas took Madeline out of Janson's arms. He picked the limp girl up bridal style and she groaned softly. Thomas immediately turned around and began to walk towards the exit, not saying a word.

"Where are you going?" Janson and Peter both looked shocked.

"To bed. It's been a long day." With that, Thomas signaled the other boys and they all walked out together, leaving Janson and Peter alone.

"That didn't go how I wanted it to."
