A/N: Very short part, but it's still intense...
The world went black as soon as Madeline had realized what she'd done. Her sleep was troubled and nightmares haunted her. She was unconscious but her mind was wide awake and she felt restless in her own slumber.
"Madeline..." A voice echoed inside of her head. She could almost feel her body squirming.
"Madeline..." the voice said again. Her brain was aching and the oh-so-familiar ringing was existent. She wanted to reply to the voice but she couldn't open her mouth. She could see shadows and shapes, along with mixed together colors that looked like tie-dye.
"Madeline..." She squirmed again, desperate to answer. Her throat wouldn't cooperate with her. "Madeline can you hear me..."
Her vision suddenly snapped into clarity.
"Madeline." She looked up and there was a boy. She blinked a few times in disbelief. He looked familiar... and similar... to herself.
"Madeline." He whispered. He was sitting on Madeline's hospital bed.
"Who are you?" The words came out of her mouth before she even thought about them.
The boy looked at her strangely. he laughed, causing his long brown hair to shake a little.
"You don't remember me?" He said, his voice soothingly calm. Madeline shook her head pathetically. The boy smiled, his dark brown eyes twinkling.
"I've seen those eyes." Madeline said, her voice weak and weary. The boy looked up at her.
"Have you?" He answered.
Madeline nodded.
"In the mirror. Ive seen those eyes in the mirror." She replied. The young boy laughed again. Madeline looked at him closely, her mind telling her she's seen him before. He looked the same age as her, his hair color, eye color, and skin tone identical to Madeline's. He had the same facial features.
Big, round eyes, a small, sloped noise, large and pink lips, along with many freckles covering his face.
"I'm sure you have seen these eyes in the mirror before." He whispered softly.
"Who are you?" Madeline said once again, this time demanding an answer. The boy looked at her sadly.
"You really don't remember me?... Sis?" And then it all snapped.
"Kai?!" Madeline shot up in her bed. Malakai smiled at her.
"Hey sis. I knew you remembered me." He grabbed her small hand in his.
Tears streamed down Madeline's face.
"My brother." She choked. "My twin brother. How could I have forgotten you?" She squeezed Malakai's hand, never wanting to let go. Memories of him flowed into her head like the force of a tsunami. She suddenly remembered everything about him. Memories of the twins playing together, fighting together, living together. She remembered running through fields with him, holding his hand. She remembered the day Wicked tore her away from him...
She remembered Kai screaming her name. Calling after her as members of Wicked carried her away.
She remembered Everything.
"They took your memories.. remember?" He inched closer to his twin. Madeline rubbed her free hand through her hair. She suddenly felt like telling him everything.
"I've lost my mind, Kai. I've gone crazy. I'm a psycho. I'm seeing things, I'm doing things I would never do. What have they done to me?!" She yelled as tears continued to flow down her face. Malakai shook his head sadly.
"They've killed you." He said, his eyes beginning to water.
"I'll never forgive them, Madds." He stood up from the bed, letting go of Madeline's hand resiliently.
"If only I was.." And then he stopped, turning to face his sister. He stared at her for a second, causing Madeline to feel anxious.
"If only you were what?" She asked. A tear streamed down Malakai's face, his breathing shaky.
"If only I was... alive."
