Chapter 2

*Megan POV*
I wake up at around 3 in the morning and go downstairs. I pull my phone out and send Casey and Nicole a text.
M-good morning girls
C-morning
N-why couldn't you let me sleep
M-sorry. My parents got divorced yesterday. My moms moving. She's going to let me know where so I can move there too
C-that sucks
N-noo who's going to help me with classes I don't understand
M-I don't know but I don't have a choice
C-wait doesn't you grandma live her in Nashville
N-what if your mom will move out here to be close to her
M-you two could come visit a lot and I'm sure the guys would be ok if I hung out with then sometimes
C-that would be awesome
N-you are so lucky but unlucky
C-well I'm getting tired I'm going back to sleep
N-same
I hear my phone buzz again.
Mo-we're moving our there to Nashville in a month. Your grandmother said it was fine for you to stay out there with her till we get out there
Me-so these last weeks will be the last time I see my friends for a while
Mo-yes I'm sorry
Me-you don't care
Mo-I care about you very much
Me-when's my birthday
Mo-I have six kids I can't remember all of them
Me-I know mine and all my siblings.
I close the message app and call my mother. I go outside as its ringing
Mo-Megan I don't think there's anymore to discuss
Me-yes there is.
Mo-what
Me-I was talking with John and he agreed with me that you and dad wouldn't notice if I was there or not. You would only notice when my siblings ask for me or when you need me to watch them
Mo-I would notice you're gone. I just have so much that I know you're responsible to care for yourself
Me-if I can care for myself then why can't I live on my own
Mo-because I would miss you and so would your brothers. Also with John and Kyle in the army and Luke going to college in 6 or 7 months I'll need your help when I'm working
Me-no mom you can't expect me to take care of your children!
I finish yelling at her and hang up. I sit on the porch step and stare at the sky. I hear the door open and someone sit next to me.
"You okay" Caleb asks
"Yeah my mom is just frustrating me" I say
"Want to talk about it" he asks
"My parents got a divorce and my mom is moving out here to live with my grandma. She expects me to leave my best and only friends to live with her. She won't even realize I'm there unless she needs me to watch my younger siblings." I say
"Who's your grandma" he asks
"Jane Folk" I say
"Oh I know her very well. She goes to our church. She talks about her grandsons all the time. Yet she has never said a word about a granddaughter" he says
"That's because the only ones who notice me are my siblings, Casey and Nicole and you guys" I say
"Well if you move out here you'll see us at church and I'm pretty sure your grandma lives down the street from Chad so you'll be able to talk and hang with us. And when Casey and Nicole come to visit you we can all hang out" he says
"Thanks Caleb" I say
"No problem. Now why don't we go inside to get ready for the day" he says
"What are we doing today" I ask
"Um I'm not totally sure" he says
We go inside and I go up to the guest room.
*Nicole POV*
I wake back up around 8:30 and go downstairs. I see Chad on the couch and go over there.
"Good morning Chad" I say
"How are you so happy in the morning" he grumbles
"Well Megan woke me up at 3 in the morning then I fell back asleep and just woke up so I'm wife awake"
I say
"Ugh I don't like it when people are wide awake when I'm not" he groans
"And why's that you big baby" I ask
"Because then I can't torment them" he says
"You could still torment them it just might no work out" I say
"Well Joey is usually half asleep when we go to the studio so that's when I torment him" he says
"Oh Chadwick" I say
"Oh Nicole" he says
"What are we doing today" I ask
"Not sure Joey said he had today under control. I'm a little afraid to see what he has planned" he says
"Give Joseph some credit he can be creative maybe" I say
"Exactly" he says, "go get dressed then we're all meeting at Joey's"
I run upstairs and get dressed. I go back downstairs and we head outside. I look around and see someone that looks like Megan's grandma.
"Hey Chad who's that lady down there" I ask
"Oh that's Jane Folk" he says
"Ok I'll be right back I think I know her" I say
I run down there and stop when I approach her.
"Grandma Folk" I say
She turns around and sees me.
"Oh Nicole how are you" she asks
"I'm good how are you" I ask
"Wonderful my daughter is moving out here with my grandsons in a month and apparently Megan is here in Nashville with you and Casey and will be here too after your visit here. Why are you here" she asks
"We won a contest to spend Christmas with our favorite band anthem lights and I'm staying with Chad Graham" I say
"Oh I know him and his friends. I go to their church" she says
"Ok well I have to go see you later" I say
I run back over to Chad's and get in his car.
"How do you know her" he asks
"She Megan's grandma" I say
"Oh ok" he says
We get to Joey's and go in.
"Joseph my favorite frenenie" Chad shouts
"Chadwick no shouting" I scold
"Thank you Nicole for protecting my ears from dumbledorf" Joey says
"No problem" I say
I feel someone jump on my back and I spin around.
"Hi Nicole" Megan says
"Hey Megs" I say
"You two are weird" Chad says
"No we aren't" Megan says
"Yes you are" Joey says
"Ugh I don't want to be stuck with this weirdo" Megan whines
"Hurtful" I say
"Too bad" she says
"Off" I say
"But I don't want to" she says
"Off now" I whine
I feel her get off then hear her squeal. I turn around and see Chad drop her on the couch. She gets up and walks over to him. She hops on his back and he tries to get her off.
"Woah hold it" we hear Alan's voice
"Where's Caleb" he asks
"He's talking to Kelsey on the phone outback" Megan says
"Casey" I yell
"What" she laughs
"Casey" Megan yells
She hops off Chad's back and we go and tackle Casey.
"Their weirder then us" Joey whispers
"We heard that" we say
"Dang it" he says
We get up and look at each other. He runs out the front door. We catch up to him and tackle him.
"That is no fair it's 3 against 1" he whines
"Too bad" I say
We get off of him and he stands up. Megan jumps on his back and he tries to get her off.
"Joey it's not going to work. She has five brothers. She's learned to have a strong grip" Casey says
"What's with you and hopping on people's backs" he asks
"I don't know it's fun" Megan says
Casey hops on my back and I walk over to Joey.
"Lets race back to your house" I say
"Ok" he says
"On your mark" Megan says
"Get set" Casey says
"Go" they scream
We take off running and Joey wins. We go inside and the others are sitting in the living room. Megan and Casey get off our backs and we join the others.
"Who won" Alan asks
"The girls" Joey grumbles
"Aww is little Joseph Angry" Megan asks
"Zip it missy I'm older" he says
"Yes but I'm more mature and taller" she says
"Nooooo" he says
"Sorry Joey but she's right dis time" Chad says
"Chadwick it's this" Caleb and Megan scold
"Yes finally someone cares about proper English" Caleb cheers
"Wow dork finally has a friend" Chad says
"Hold it I don't want to be a dork like him" Megan says
"Oh don't worry only Caleb is a dork" Joey says
"All right everyone calm down. Joey what do you have planned for today" Alan asks
*Casey POV*
Joey stands up and signals for the guys to follow him. They get up and walk outside. I get up from the chair and join the other two on the couch. Nicole gets up and sits on Megan's lap. She whispers something to her and Megan slaps her back.
"What did you say" I ask
"I told her that I saw her grandma and she wouldn't stop talking about her" Nicole says
"Why did you slap her back" I ask
"Because I know it's a lie" Megan says
"Ok" I say
I get up and sit on Nicole's lap.
"Nooooo you guys are killing me" Megan groans
"What is going in in here? We leave for give minutes and you guys already turn backs on each other" Caleb asks
"No Casey and I are working together. Megan is lame for already finishing her homework for this week since we're missing a whole week of school before Christmas break" Nicole says
"Well school is a very important thing" Megan says
"Yeah I know that but why would you want to do more homework then what is required" I say
"Because I want to get scholarships so that I can go to college or I'm not going and I'll be working at McDonald's for the rest of my life" she says
"Wow you have your whole life set out for you" Chad says
"No only if I don't go to college" she says
"Ok lets go we're going for breakfast" Caleb says
"Food!" Nicole shouts
I just sit there and Megan starts laughing.
"Casey get your butt off my lap" she says
"Nope" I say
"Chad help me" she asks
"No" he says
"Joey"
"Nope" he says
"Caleb" She asks
"No way you brought this upon yourself" he says
"Alan your my last hope please get Casey off of me so I can eat" Nicole asks
"Sorry no can do. You three got into this situation you can get out of it" he says
"To leave me out of this Richard. I was sitting here thinking about what my mom said this morning and they sat on my lap. I have nothing to do with this" Megan says
"Watch it missy I know where you're staying. Don't call me Richard" Alan says
"But why not?" She whines
"Because its not my name" he says
"Yes it is" she whines
"Yo do you want some cheese to go with your wine" Chad asks
"Excuse me Chadwick but I can't drink wine until I'm 21 and I'm only 15" Megan sasses
"Well then miss sassy" he says
She stands up and Nicole and I fall on the floor. She walk over to him and jumps on his back.
"Alan get this sassy monster off my back" Chad says
"Can't I'm busy" he says
Megan turns her head and sees me on Caleb's back and Nicole on Alan's.
"I'm driving. Alan give me your keys" Joey says
"I call shotgun" I say
"Woah why does the youngest in both groups get the front I think it should be the oldest" Nicole says
"Agreed" Alan says
"Wait when are your birthdays" Caleb asks
"April 3" Nicole says
"Mine is August 17 but I was born a year after them" I say
"Megan when's yours" Chad asks
"Mmmmm" she mumbles
"I can't hear you" Chad says
"It's December tw-" I start but get cut off by Megan putting her hand over my mouth. I lick it and she pulls it away quickly. She wipes it on my jacket.
"Oh come one why won't you tell us" Joey asks
"Because if I tell you you'll make a big deal out of it and then I'll get angry for reasons not related to this trip and I don't want to ruin the trip with all my life troubles" She says
"We won't make a big deal out of it" Alan says
"December twenty fifth" she says
"Oh so Christmas that's pretty cool" Chad says
"Can we leave for breakfast now I'm staving" I say
"Yeah lets go" Joey says
We go out to Alan's van and Nicole gets in front. Megan climbs in back and so does Alan and Chad. I sit behind Joey and Caleb sits behind Nicole. Joey drives off towards somewhere.
"Caleb do you think you could try and get Megan talk to you about her family" I whisper
"She was talking to Kelsey yesterday and I heard some of it and I talked with her this morning but I'll try and talk with her more why" he asks
"I'll tell you the reason later" I say
"We're at Denny's" Nicole and Joey say
We get out and everyone heads in but Caleb and me.
"So why should I ask her" he asks
"Because no one ever takes the time to care about her but me, Nicole, and her two older brothers who are now overseas for five years. Please talk with her Caleb. I'm pretty sure that most days she wants to kill herself but it's Nicole and me and your songs that keep her alive. If she does move out here you have to promise me that you guys will be there for her. Care for her and make sure she never has a reason to kill herself. Please promise me" I beg in tears
"I will. Now stop crying and lets go eat" Caleb says
He gives me a hug and I hug him back. He wipes my tears away and we go inside.
"You two ok" Alan asks
"Perfectly fine" I say
"Yeah we were just talking about something" Caleb says
"Ok" he says
We sit down and order. I pull my phone out and send Nicole a text.
C-I asked Caleb to talk with Megan for us
N-good
C-I also asked him to protect her and make sure she doesn't kill herself or tries to
N-good thinking. I think the other three guys notice something is wrong too but we both know she will be stubborn and not talk to them
C-yeah she'll say that this trip is about all of us and not just her
"What are you two doing" Caleb asks
"Texting" I say
"Oh well if you haven't noticed your food is getting cold" Chad says
I look up and see a plate of food in front of me. We eat our food then leave. Megan runs to the van and gets in the front. Joey hands the keys over to Alan and we all get in.
"Where are we going" us girls ask in unison
"Lazer tag" Joey says
"Yes! I haven't played that in forever" I say
"Forever? We just played it last year for my birthday" Megan says
"Woah look here Megan can say more than five words" Chad jokes
"Chadwick don't make me tackle you" Megan says
"You can't do that" he says
"Um Chad buddy did you forget she has five brothers" Joey says
"We're here you morons" Alan says
"Hey if anyone is a moron it's Richard" Nicole says
"Watch it missy I can hire Chad to hurt you" Alan says
"Why don't you just do it" she asks
"Because he can do it when you're least expecting it since you're staying with him" Alan says
"Woah don't drag me into this" Chad says
We all get out of the van and walk into the building.
