Chapter 14

"Ugh" Nicole says
"What" I ask
"I have to leave soon. My mom invited by cousin over for dinner tonight. Apparently he lives in Nashville. The last time we saw him was when I was 3" Nicole says
"Ok" Casey says
"I have to leave soon too. I have to go somewhere" Spencer says
"Alright" Joey says
"Dada I play outside" Jason asks
"Not now buddy." Joey says
"Ok" Jason says
We talk for a few minutes about random things.
"I've got to go" Spencer and Nicole say
"My mom's here" Nicole says
"My aunt is here" Spencer says
"Well this should be interesting" I say
*Back to the present*
*Nicole POV*
I look at Spencer and he looks at me. There's a knock at the door and Megan goes and opens it.
"Hi Mrs. Jones come on in" she says
My mom walks in and we all look at her.
"Mom is there something you'd like to tell me" I ask
"No I don't think so" she says
"Hi aunt Beth" Spencer says
"Oh hi Spencer. I assume you have met your cousin Nicole" my mom says
"Yes. Yes I have" Spencer says
"Well we should head out. Thank you all for letting Nicole hang out" my mom says
"Mom I think we need to talk" I say
"Hey who wants to go play football in the backyard" Joey asks
Everyone agrees so they get up and leave. Spencer is about to follow but I stop him.
"Stay" I say
"Alright" he says
He sits down and my mom comes and sits down too.
"Mom why didn't you tell me who my cousin was." I ask
"I thought you knew. I thought Brian would of told you" she says
"Well he didn't now did he" I ask
"Allison Nicole don't you start getting sassy with me" my mom scolds
"Mom you know this is going to confuse Jess a lot. She's going to get annoyed and act out" I say
"Who's Jess" Spencer asks
"My little sister. She has autism" I say
"Ok" he says
"Nicole we'll talk about this more later. Are you two ready to go" my mom asks
"Yeah. Just let me go and say bye to everyone" I say
I walk off and go outback.
"Bye" I yell
"Bye" I hear back
I go back inside and then follow my mo and Spencer outside. We're getting into my mom's car just as Chad is walking into the driveway.
"See ya" Spencer and I both say
"Bye" he says looking confused.
My mom starts the car and she drives home.
*Chad POV*
I go inside and hear everyone's voices from outback. I go outback to find a football game going on.
"What's the score. And what are the teams" I ask
"Hey Chad" Megan says
"Hey" I say
"Um Megan's team is winning. The captains are Joey and Megan. On Joey's team is Casey and Tyler. Megan's team is Megan and Caleb" Kelsey says
"What Kels did you not want to play" I ask
"No thanks. I'll stick to watching Jason" Kelsey says
"Chad where's Owen and Nick" Megan asks
"They're with Fallon. She took them to the store to buy clothes" I say
"Alright" she says
"Chad you're on Megan's team" Joey says
"Ok" I say
I set my phone, keys, and wallet on the patio table and jog over to Megan and Caleb.
"We have the ball so Caleb snap it to me and then I'll chuck it to Chad" Megan says
"Ok. What are we going to call this play" I ask
"Fr e shavocado" Megan says
"What" I ask
"It's a remix but it stands for fresh avocado. It will really confuse them" she says
"Alright" Caleb says
We get set up in our positions.
"Hut hut. Fr e shavocado" Megan says
She gets the ball and I start running she throws it and I get a touchdown.
"Megan. How dare you use that tricky play on us. You and your brothers did that to me and Nicole before too." Casey says
She goes up to Megan and stands with her hand on her hip.
"Well excuse me miss sassy but I can use what ever play I want to" Megan sass'
"Ok girls that's enough. Break it up" Caleb says
"Grimm" Casey says
"Shut it" Megan says
"Dang they are very sassy" Caleb says
"I wonder who has the most sass" Kelsey asks
"No Kelsey. We are not finding that out. We'll be here forever" I  say
"I agree with Chaddy" Joey says
"Ok I have a question" I say
"Ask" Megan says
"It" Casey finishes
"Why was Spencer getting into the vehicle with Nicole and her mom" I ask
"Nicole and Spencer are cousins apparently" Caleb says nonchalantly
"No one finds that weird" I ask
"Nope. I mean me and Casey are cousins and you are technically Megan's dad" Joey says
"Oh yeah. You guys are cousins" I say
"Wow Chad how could you forget" Joey asks
"Come on Joey it's you were talking about. He just loves picking on you" Casey says
"You're lucky I care about you" Joey says
"Meg you alright? You're a little quite" I say
"Yeah. I'm fine I'm just thinking" Megan says
"Is little meggy missing track" Casey asks
"Somewhat" Megan says
"You ran track" I ask
"No. I threw shot put Javelin and discus. Nicole and Casey ran track. But Casey doesn't really like it." Megan says
"You girls should be a part of a team" Caleb says
"We can't we're being homeschooled" Casey says
"Actually there's a Christian school near by that lets homeschoolers be a part of their sports. You three should do some of their sports" I say
"I'm good with my instruments" Megan says
"Oh yeah that reminds me Megan would you like to have one of my guitars so that you have one" Joey asks
"Joey I can't. They're yours. Anyways I have one" Megan says
"No offense Megan but it's really old and really out of tune" Joey says
"I'm sorry Joe I can't take it" she says
She gets up from where she was sitting and runs off.
"Did I do something" Joey asks
"No. You didn't but I have a feeling I know what's wrong" I say
"Well go after her" Caleb says
"No. Not yet. I need to let her have a few minutes to herself." I say
"Then can we continue playing football" Casey asks
"Well now that the teams are uneven Kelsey you need to play. Joey do you want Casey or Kelsey" I ask
"We call Casey. Sorry babe but your going down" Caleb says
"We'll see about that Grimm shady" Kelsey says
"Your on Grimm sassy" Caleb says
"Ok let's just play" Joey says
We play for a little bit and we win.
"Ha" Caleb says
"Joseph" Kelsey yells
"On it" Joey says
He runs to his shed then comes back. He hands me a bag and I look in it. They're water balloons. We grab them and start chucking them at Caleb. Once done I give the bag to Joey and head off in search of Megan. I get to the place where we shot roar and start walking. I get to the tree we were in when we talked and climb it. I sit on a branch near Megan.
"Chad you didn't have to come looking for me. I'm fine" she says
"I know but I thought you could use some company" I say
"Ok" she says
"Did the guitar belong to your grandma" I ask
"Yeah. When she died she left it for my dad. As soon as I was big enough to hold it he gave it to me and I taught myself how to play." She says
"That's really cool. Now what's wrong. I know you weren't thinking only about track" I say
"Did you really defend me when she called me a slut" she asks
"Of course I did. I care about you very much. I would protect any of you girls" I say
"I know I already said this but thank you for adopting me and my brothers" she says
"It's fine. Anyways you and your brothers needed a father figure and a good mother figure in your lives." I say
"Thank you" she says
"No problem. Now how about we go do something" I say
"Like what" she asks
"I don't know. Maybe go sign you up for track" I say
"Really" she asks
"I mean if you don't want to we won't" I say
"No I do. Thank you Chaddy" she says
"Don't call me that" I say
"Do you prefer Chadwick" she asks
"Actually yes. Yes I do" I say
"Ok so can we goo" she asks
"Yes but you do realize we have to get out of the tree first" I say
"Oh yeah" she says
We get down and start walking. We get to the school and I spot a few cars in the parking lot.  We go inside and to the main office.
"Hello can I help you" the secretary asks
"Yes. I was looking to sign my daughter up for track. She's homeschooled so" I say
"Ok. I'll get you a form to fill out. Just give me a sec" she says
we wait a few minutes and she returns with a form.
"Just fill this out and bring it to the first practice. The dates and times are attached. Also a schedule. Have a good afternoon" she says
"Thank you you too" I say
We head out and continue walking towards home. We get there and go inside.
"Megan" Nick yells
"Nick" Megan yells back
"How did it go" Fallon asks
"Fine. Caleb and Kelsey adopted Luke. Then we got forms to sign Megan up for track" I say
"Ok well Megan Nick has been wanting you to look at his new clothes. They're in his room" Fallon says
"Ok" Megan says
She walks upstairs with Nick and Fallon and I go sit on the couch.
"What happened" Fallon asks 
"The social worker called Megan a slutty snob and was interrogating her." I say
"Hey as long as you talked with her and she's ok then there's nothing to worry about. Also Like is getting home tomorrow so that should make her more cheerful" Fallon says
I'm about to say something when I hear crying over the baby monitor.
"I'll go get him" I say
I get up and go upstairs. I get to the boys room to see Megan and Nick asleep on the floor. I pick Owen up and go downstairs with him. My phone starts ringing so I pass him off to Fallon.
C-hello
N-hey Chad
C-what's wrong Nicole
N-how did you know something was wrong
C-why else would you call me
N-true
C-now what do you need
N-my mom and I got into a fight. She's not speaking to me and if she is it's usually yelling. What do I do
C- apologize for fighting with her
N-but Chad she started the argument
C-Nicole I don't care who started the argument. Remember the 5th commandment honor your mother and father. Even if they start the argument you should apologize just to show that you respect them. And maybe in the end they'll apologize to you too
N-ok thanks Chad
C-no problem. Good Night
I hang up and sit next to Fallon on the couch.
"That was good advice" she says
"There's a reason the girls come to me for advice. I mean Megan is stuck with me but Nicole comes to me and sometimes Casey will come to me instead of Joey" I say
"Ok well I'm tired so I'm going to head to bed. Can you deal with Owen" she asks
"Yep good night" I say
She hands me Owen and goes upstairs. I turn the tv in and a few minutes later I hear little footsteps. All of a sudden Nick is on my lap.
"Did you sleep well" I ask
"Me tired" he says
"Ok should we take you to bed" I ask
"Me me stay with you" he says
"Alright" I say
A few minutes later and Nick is asleep. I go upstairs and put Nick in bed and tuck him in. I go downstairs and make Owen a bottle. I give it to him and he slowly falls asleep. Once he is asleep I take him up to bed and put him in his crib. I pick Megan up off the floor and take her to her room. I lay her in bed and pull the covers over her.
"Night Chad" she mumbles
"Night love" I say
I go to my room, get in bed, and slowly drift off to sleep.

*Nicole POV*
(Before calling Chad)
"Why didn't you tell me about Spencer" I ask
"Because I truly thought your brother told you" my mom says
"Well he didn't. Couldn't you have like asked if he told me" I ask
"Your brother is never home to do so" she says
"No mom your never home. I don't get to see you very often. Your always going to Jessica's activities or Brian's activities." I yell
"Don't raise your voice like that at me" she scolds
"Mom why didn't you just tell me Spencer was my cousin when I liked him as a singer" I ask
"I don't know. Maybe the fact that I'm always busy" she says
"Too busy to pay attention to your eldest daughter. To busy to tell her four words. Too busy to notice that your daughter isn't always home? That she does sports and is always at her friends house" I yell
"That's it you're grounded for a month. No hanging out with your friends or the guys. You will stay in the house" she scolds
I walk away and go to my room. I close the door and lay in my bed. I bury my face into my pillow and cry. A few minutes later there's a knock at my door.
"Who is it" I ask
"Your dad" my dad says
"Come in" I say
He comes in and sits down on the edge of my bed.
"You ok sweetheart. I asked your mom what happened and she just said you're grounded" he says
"Yeah I'm fine. Mom and I just got into a stupid argument and I yelled at her" I say
"Ok. I love you" he says
"Love you too dad" I say
He leaves and I pull out my phone and call Chad.
*~* (after calling Chad)
I sigh and hang up. I go downstairs and find my family eating dinner. Without me.
"Mom can I talk with you out front please" I ask
"How about after dinner" she asks
"Mom it's really important" I say
"Ok" she says
She gets up from the table. We go out front and sit on the porch steps. I turn my body so that I'm facing her before I speak.
"Mom I'm sorry I yelled at you. I was just trying to get a point across and I was getting mad and stressed that you weren't hearing it." I say
"It's ok and I'm sorry too. Once you went upstairs I was thinking about what you said and you're right. I can't remember the last of your activities I went to." She says
"I love you mom" I say
"Love you too sweetheart. Now you aren't grounded for a month anymore only a week because you still yelled at me" she says
"I understand" I say
We go inside and to the dining room. I grab some food and continue eating. I finish and go upstairs. I send Chad a quick text thanking him for the advice then go to sleep.

Hey everyone!
So I'm so happy that it's now the fourth marking period of the school year. I can't believe this year has gone so quick. Now it will take me to update my book for now because of track season and homework. I'll try to update every other week if possible. Also, check out xxBabyxxGirlxx books. She's an amazing writer and has a lot of great stories. She's working on a really cool anthem lights/ criminal minds stories. Even if you aren't interested in criminal minds it's a great book to read. Love you all.
