Chapter Four: Nightmare Illusions

I jump out of bed and get changed into a dark green tank top and black ripped jean shorts with a thin gray cover up.

As I pack my bag I feel a breeze of wind hit me. I quickly look over my shoulder and I see my window was still open.

I flash back to my dream last night. He seemed like he cared for me maybe even loved me. No. He wouldn't he's just a friend why would he even consider the thought.

I look out my window and see Toby he's still sleeping. I smile and close my shades.

I run downstairs and throw my bag on one if the chairs. I grab my special white coffee cup and fill it up adding sugar and creamer.

"Mom? Do you have work today?" I ask loudly so she can hear me. "Yeah and I won't be back till late so don't do anything terrible please?" My mother begs walking out of the living room and into the kitchen.

"I won't don't worry I've gotta go bye." I say as I hug my mom goodbye. "Love you!" My mom shouts to me on the way out. "Love you too!" I yell behind

my shoulder I grab a picture frame of my dad and pull the picture out and leave.

I start walking to school and look down at the picture of my dad. I look up at the loud crack of a jack hammer. I guess I'm going to have to cross the street.

I step off of the side walk and onto the main road. My eyes still glued to the picture I slowly walk across the road.

"Watch out!!!" I hear someone scream my eyes quickly darted up and I froze. I feel someone's hands on my waist pull me back. I watch a giant delivery truck pass by.

"What the hell were you thinking?" I hear Toby's worried voice.

"I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention" I mumble hearing the anger in his voice.

I quickly get up and walk to the other sidewalk.

I reach school and walk to my locker I push my books inside. I take a tack and put up my picture of my dad and close my locker.

I walk to my homeroom and see it is my first class.

"Hi Mr. Fields" I say sounding happy when I'm not. Not even close.

"Hello Lily how are you this morning?" He asks with a smile on his face.

"I'm good" I say as the bell rings I sit down at my spot and relax a bit.

I see Toby come in and he sits behind me. I shiver a bit than calm down.

"Ok class today I would like to show you a movie on cloning will someone please turn off the lights." Mr. Fields pointed to the lights then started the movie through his laptop. The projector turned on and played the movie as the lights went out.

A bright light flashed a million times and I went back to my dream.

I saw Toby screaming for me I couldn't move my hands were tied. I could see the blinding light of the train right in front of me.

I start to get dizzy and fall out of my seat holding onto the table.

Toby quickly comes to my side and whispers to Mr. Fields.

"May I bring her to the nurse?" Toby asks and he nods. Toby walks out with me to the hall. The nurse isn't far I think.

He puts his arm around me and I get closer to him. Pulling the sleeves on my cover down.

"I'm sorry about this morning I just got so worried about..................." He trailed off and I shivered which only brought us closer.

Toby's P.O.V.

I hear her warm thick blood rushing through her veins. I pull her closer to me wanting to keep her safe.

I don't know how to tell her. Maybe she doesn't like me but either way tomorrow I will ask her. I will show her what I truly am. I don't care if he finds out I won't let anything happen to her.
