Chapter Thirteen Part Two: The Dangers of Running in the Hall

As I walk down the hall I see the red haired man who was at the meeting. His smile increases as I start to back away I turn around to run away but I bump into a man and as I look up he covers my mouth. "Shhh Lily you can't leave I'm sure Toby already told you this but I'm guessing you rebelled so please listen to me you can't leave they will kill you before you take one step out the door and I don't want that Toby doesn't want that and neither does Meredith or Jackson so please stay here" he whispers and I slowly nod.

As he lets go I start to walk away and he grabs me. "I have to bring you to a new room the ball is starting soon so you will have to get changed" he looks at me and I look away as he brings me to a different room I get changed into the dress they bought for me the light shinned upon the black and I smiled. As I grab the door knob it twists by itself and the door swings open and hits me making me fall. "Oh my god I'm so sorry Lily I didn't know you were there" Meredith says helping me up. "It's ok" I say rubbing my forehead I look at her and she has a faint frown on her face, I frown at the sight.

"What's wrong?" I ask and she sighs. "I'm worried that by tonight you will be dead or worse and Jackson won't be able to help you I don't want to lose my best and only friend and I will help in anyway I can but Jackson says right now there's nothing I can do" she says tears forming in her eyes. She sits on the bed and I sit with her. "Don't be worried about me be worried about yourself you know about them they could change their minds and give you the same charge as me and I promise no matter what happens you won't lose me" I assure her and she smiles.

"Where is Toby?" I ask a little worried and she frowns. "Jackson is looking for him right now after you stormed out he ran off" she looks at me with sad eyes as she sees the anger filling me up she looks at me with confusion. "What's wrong?" Meredith asks curiously. "I broke up with him that's why and I think I'm supposed to be with him during the ball" I look at her a bit worried while anger mixes in. "I'm angry at him I'm furious because he won't tell me anything but he has given up on his life and decided to protect me when I don't want that I want him to have a normal life" I look at Meredith and she smiles a bit.

"Why are you smiling?" I ask laughing a little. "If Jackson and Toby were to have a normal life they would already be dead a hundred and eighty five years ago Jackson was our age and he was bitten if you want them to have a normal life then we would have to get them into the sunlight with a stake to their hearts" she smiles at me and a tiny smirk appears on my face. "Yeah I guess your right" I laugh and she hugs me. "We'll get through this Lily I promise the worst that can happen is that you don't make it" she whispers serious now and I smile at the fact that I'm nervous. "Let's get ready" she cheers pulling me away and lifting up her dress.

Toby's P.O.V.

As I look down at the people pulling into the long driveway all dressed up thinking that they will see a show. How the fuck is a young girl being bitten a show?

I look at the sun finally setting wondering if I should go back to see if Jackson is getting ready, if Lily is ok, and if I can change their minds. I don't want her to suffer like we did she shouldn't have to go through that ever, maybe I can have Nathan manipulate them make them change their minds and spare her. No they would see past it and make it worse. I won't let her become a monster ripping people to shreds for their blood. It won't happen. I look down tears falling from my eyes I quickly wipe them away as a window to my right swings open.
