It was new years eve and Donna was getting ready for the ball.
Cristiano had insisted she pamper herself in his huge bathroom instead of her cramped en suite in the guest house.
Taylor had just called to say she had landed safely in Paris and was heading to the concert.
Donna was nervous about her daughter being so far away and repeatedly checked her phone for messages from her.
Applying the finishing touches to her make up the brunette sprayed her favourite perfume and was ready to go.
Making her way out of the bathroom she could hear voices from downstairs.
Dolores had come to babysit Junior while Cristiano patiently waited for his assistant.
Donna began the journey downstairs holding onto her dress being careful not to trip.
Hearing the clicking of heels Cristiano walked to the bottom of the stairs as his mother followed behind.
Looking up he couldn't believe what he was seeing, the brunette made her way down dressed in a long satin red dress with a few strips of diamonds running across the front all the way to the back.
The colour of the dress set off her new Spanish tan perfectly as her loosely waved hair hung to one side.
He swallowed hard as he held out a hand to help the PA down the last step.
Once at the bottom he twirled her around getting a view of the back which clung tightly to her assets. The dress sat low at the back with a few strips of diamonds running across the brunettes bare skin.
Dolores covered her mouth "you look stunning" she gasped hugging the assistant. Donna looked at Cristiano in shock.
"She's right, you look beautiful" he answered keeping his eyes firmly on her.
"I need a photo of you two like this" said Dolores running to fetch her phone
Cris took Donna's hands, facing her he said "Thank you so much for doing this"
"I'm looking forward to it actually" she replied smiling at him
The footballer noticed she was wearing the necklace and pulled a box from his pocket handing it to her
Donna opened the box to see a pair of diamond drop earrings. "Cris" she gasped "you already gave me the necklace"
"I know but with a dress like that you need some diamonds to match" he replied looking in her eyes.
Donna put on the earings as the footballer watched her, he couldn't believe how much they made her eyes sparkle even more than usual.
Just then Dolores appeared with her phone "put your arm around her Cristiano" she shouted
Cris done as he was told pulling the brunette close, he didn't have to fake a smile as the one on his face couldn't be any wider as his mother snapped away.
The car pulled up outside to take the couple to the ball as Cris helped his assistant into the car.
Climbing in beside her the footballer couldn't take his eyes of his date for the evening.

The couple arrived at the ball and were seated at a table with a few of Cristiano's team mates.
The hall was beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers above each table. The chairs were covered with huge red bows to match the flower centrepieces.
