Last Straw

"Lucy, I've got an idea." Megan breaks the silence.
After coming back from Principle Jenkins' house, the boys and us separated. For twenty minutes, Megan and I've been pretty much doing our own thing. She changed into one of my shirts and sweats while I replaced my hoodie and jeans with a baseball tee and loose shorts.
I look across the room to my desk, where she is sat. "What?"
"How about we mislead Matt into thinking you're someone else?" She begins. "Today, in the car the boys were blabbering about how he's been trying to figure out who the girl was that saved him."
I sat up. "What do you plan on doing, exactly?"
"I know Matt has an InstaChat account. Let's make a fake account and send him a message there. We can basically make sure he doesn't find out it was you."
I contemplate her proposal. It isn't a bad idea, but it's definitely something I might regret later in the future.
"Or, you can tell him it was you. Either ways, I'll be by your side." She offers a sincere smile, one which I return.
"Let's just make an InstaChat account." I say, weighing the options out. Do I really want to risk things crumbling to pieces by telling him the truth?
No, I don't. He isn't worth it.
Megan looks at me a little sadly, before she just nods and gets her phone out.
Barbara was kind enough to supply me with wifi. After downloading the application, Megan smiles. I walk towards her, stopping behind her chair to look down at her screen.
"I'm naming you Mystery Girl, by the way." She grins, and before I can protest, she hits the create button to display the tutorial screen.
After skipping the tutorial, she searches for MattP.32, smirking when she finds him. She sends him a message:
I'm glad to see that you're alive ;) You're welcome.
"There." She locks her phone and grins. "Now, we wait."

In the morning, I had to wake up an hour earlier than Megan to make breakfast for everyone. Since it's summer, everyone wakes up pretty late, so I'm partially okay with waking up at 9:00 am to make food.
After serving everyone, I take mine and Meg's portion in two separate paper plates along with a half finished bottle of orange juice.
When I reach my room, I find Megan out of bed, probably in the bathroom. In the mean time, I brush my hair, throwing it into a top knot.
After we eat, Megan goes back to her house. Considering it's just seven houses away, she walks.
For the time being, I spend a while on Pinterest. I don't know if it's just me, but I honestly just look at all the projects as a source of entertainment. I'm legitimately too lazy to try any of them.
"Hey, Lu." Jason barges in my room. I look over my shoulder to throw him a lazy smile.
"Hi. You going somewhere?" I ask, observing his attire.
"There have been more summer parties being thrown than I thought." He says, running a hand through his disheveled hair. I takes a seat next to me, rolling his eyes at the screen.
"I've never seen you try any of this crap, Lu. Why don't you just check out recipes to cook for me instead?" He suggests cheekily and I flick his forehead.
