Awkward & Suspicious
♔ L u c y ♔
"I can't believe you're stealing my boyfriend."
I shoot my head to the direction of Nathan, furrowing my eyebrows at his remark.
"I'm not stealing your boyfriend. I thought you were dating Megan!"
"Well, yeah but Matt is my main and youre taking him away from me." Nathan complains childishly and i snort as a response.
I try to stay as steady as possible while filling in my brows, but Nathan poses as an obstacle.
"Would you quit making fart noises?" I exclaim, but break into a smile anyways. As annoying as Nathan is, I can't deny that the two of us are very close now and I enjoy his company immensely.
"Gosh, going on dates makes you cranky." He teases, waggling his eyebrows. "Can you fill mine in too?" Nathan gestures towards the eyebrow pencil in my hand.
"Sure." I chirp, going over to him. "Stay still, i don't want to mess this up."
"You could never mess my face up." He retorts cockily, but follows my instructions regardless.
"Don't bet on that." I mumble, being very careful to ensure a good shape. However, to some extent, I do agree with Nathan. He's a very handsome guy, and there's very little that can change that.
As I finish my slightly clumsy masterpiece, I allow Nathan to check himself out in the mirror, which he already does more than necessary.
"Thanks, Blondie. I'm gonna go show this to my beautiful girlfriend." He grins cheesily before exiting my room.
I check myself out in the mirror, content. I didn't go all out or anything. In fact, I'm dressed like I usually am, and am wearing my everyday makeup. The only thing that's different is my hair, which, for once, is tamed and in place.
When the doorbell rings, I take my bag with my phone and wallet before running down the stairs.
"-look bushier than usual." I hear Matt say to Nathan.
"I'm going to take that as a compliment." Nathan replies, turning back to give me a thumbs up. I smile.
"Hey Matt." I greet. This morning I decided that I will not act like a wimp just because our little hangout has the title of a date. I'm going to have fun and not let any sort of emotion take away my sense of normalcy.
"Hello." He says cheesily, a grin plastered on his face. "I didn't think we were going to match, but here we are."
I look down at my flowy black top, noting his black tee as welll. "I can change if you want."
"Nah." He waves me off as I slide on my white sneakers. I shove past Nathan, ducking when he tries ruffling my hair.
Not today.
"Have fun, kids!" He waves his hand dramatically in the air before shutting the door.
"I was told to not like you more than I like him." Matt says as we enter his car.
I chuckle. "I'm sure you can do that."
Matt laughs and winks at me. "It would be like playing a lost game."
