Surprise Entrance

Y/N's Pov.

I arrived home soon enough and put down my backpack. I noticed that my parents weren't home yet and figured that they were probably still at work. I took out the emerald and admired it for a while. It color was like that of the ocean, but it glowed like a lantern, maybe even brighter. I went to my room and placed it on my desk. Curious, I decided to look up on my computer (you have one, enjoy it!) about any kind of shiny blue emerald, but found nothing. I, then, remembered a show I used to watch when I was younger called Sonic X. The main character, a blue hedgehog named Sonic, went around with his friends collecting the 7 Chaos Emeralds, which were large emeralds that were many different colors. I didn't know why this emerald reminded me of that show. I mean, it couldn't be one the Chaos Emeralds, they're not real... right? I was snapped out my crazy thought by a sound on the roof. I sounded like someone was walking on it. I figured that it was just another cat until I heard them again, this time sounding more like footsteps. I did my best to ignore it and decided to start on my homework. Not even 5 minutes later, I heard it again. Someone was walking on my roof and it was annoying me.
"What's with all the cats on my roof today." I mumbled, annoyed.
I, then, heard a tap on my window. I looked over to see who it was, but no one was there. Pesky birds... I heard the door to my house open and my parents announce that they were home. I yelled back to tell them that I was already home before going back to doing my homework, but not before hiding the emerald. If they saw it, they would think that I stole it or something.

*time skip to after you finish homework (evening)*

I had finally finished my essay, so I stretched back and relaxed. Thankfully, the sound had stopped while I was finishing the rest of my homework. I decided that I would watch something on TV, since my parents were already asleep. I went into the living room and turned on the TV. It was on the news channel, and it was saying that a weird light appeared somewhere above my neighborhood. It must've been the same light that I saw. I changed it to another channel (whatever channel you like) and watched it for about an hour.
One hour later, I decided that I should get ready for bed. I went back into my room and changed into my PJs. I took out the emerald and wondered again. Where did it come from? It was still glowing brightly, so I decided to tuck it under my pillow so it wouldn't shine its light in my eyes. I tried to fall asleep, but even after 10 minutes, I had no success. I decided to just lay in bed until I fell asleep. I, then, heard it again. A tapping sound on my window. I was going to ignore it, but it got louder the longer I did. Eventually, I got out of bed and walked over to the window. Upon opening it, I was expecting to see a bird or something like that, but I didn't. What I saw could've made me faint altogether. The tapping on my window came from a 3-foot tall, blue hedgehog.
