Y/N's Pov.
I awoke the next morning to the Sun's bright shine through my windows. My clock read 10: 58 am. I must've been really tired when I feel asleep last night. I quickly checked under my pillow to see if the emerald was still there, but it wasn't. So it wasn't a dream... I yawned and got out of bed to go and change. After getting dressed, I head to the kitchen where I saw my dad drinking coffee while reading the newspaper and my mom making pancakes.
"Good morning, Y/N." Dad said, "Did you sleep well?"
I nodded and said "good morning" to them both as well. Mom handed my a plate of pancakes. I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened last night. Did I really meet the famous blue hedgehog or was I just hallucinating?
"Are you feeling okay, Y/N?" Mom asked, worried, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"What? Yeah, why do you ask?"
"You haven't touched any of your pancakes in the past five minutes."
"Oh. I'm just drowsy a little." I replied, while eating my pancakes. Even if I did tell my mom what happened, she wouldn't believe me anyway.
"Alright then."
After I finished my pancakes, I told my parents that I was heading to the park before walking out the door. I needed time to ponder whether what happened was real or not. The park was, surprisingly, almost empty today. Normally it would be full of people, but today there was only a few squirrels running around collecting nuts. Maybe everyone was relaxing in their homes today. I went over and sat down on the park bench. Luckily, I had brought a book to keep me occupied. After about 10 minutes of reading, I heard a tiny sound. I ignored it, thinking that it was just another animal, but when it came again, it sounded like it was my name being called. I must've been hearing things, so I kept reading. About 30 seconds later, I felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Man, it's impossible to get your attention." I nearly shrieked and jumped off the bench. I turned around and saw Sonic hiding in the bushes.
"Don't startle me like that!" I exclaimed, "I nearly had a heart attack!"
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." he replied, chuckling at my reaction.
"And don't you know we're in the middle of a park?! What if someone sees you?!" I whisper-yelled.
"Relax, Y/N. There's no one here right now. Plus I told you that I was coming back to see ya, didn't I?" he proclaimed.
"Yeah, but..." I mumbled, blushing slightly. Even if he was real, I didn't think that he'd come back to see me.
"You alright there?" I shook away my blush.
"Oh, yes. Is there any reason why you're here?"
"Yes, actually. I was gonna invite you to our place."
"'Our' place?" I questioned.
"Yeah. You could meet my friends too." I remember always wanting to meet these guys when I was younger, and now, my wish was coming true.
"I don't know. I told my parents that I would come back in time for lunch." I replied. As much as I wanted to go, I knew that my parents would get suspicious if I didn't come back eventually.
"No need to worry!" Sonic stated, "I can take you there and back in a 'sonic' second."
"Well, alright." I agreed, "But how are we going to get there?"
"Easy. I'll carry you." he said, as he picked me up bridal style, causing my face to erupt in a red blush.
"Don't you think there is another way to get there without you... carrying me?" I questioned, trying to hide my blush.
"Unless you wanna walk, then nope! Now, hold on tight!" he stated, before speeding off with his super speed.
