Confession and Finale

Sonic's Pov.

I woke up to find myself back at home in the treatment room. I felt really weak, and noticed that I was bandaged up. I looked over to my right and saw Y/N sitting in a chair next to me, asleep. Was she up all night or something? I tried to remember what happened and how I got this way. I remember turning into a werehog before losing control over myself. Then, I took Y/N into a cave in the woods and fell asleep nuzzling into her, which made me blush thinking about it. I, then, heard a cry for help and saw Y/N almost- I gasped, stopping to collect my thoughts. I was injured because my werehog state saved her from a bear. I growled

"Sonic?" I heard Y/N speak up, sleepily, until she opened her eyes and they went wide, "Sonic!" She tackled me into a hug, but unlike Amy's, I enjoyed it and hugged her back. It was, then, that I noticed she was crying.
"Y/N, what's wrong?" I asked worriedly, pulling out of the hug.
"You, of course!" Y/N exclaimed, still crying, "You worried me. You could've been killed!"
"But if I didn't save you, you would've have been killed." I told Y/N.
"Better me than you. You are a hero, Sonic, and your friends depend on you. If you died, who do you think they would depend on then?"
"But remember Y/N," I paused, drying her tears, "A hero must always take the risk to put himself before others, even if it costs them their life. That's what it means to be a hero."
"I know that your job is to protect everyone, but..." Y/N paused, breaking down in tears again, "If you died trying to save me, I wouldn't be able to live with myself anymore."
"I know that I could've," I paused, drying Y/N's tears, "But even if I was, I'd be glad that it would've been you that I died for. Don't cry, please."
"I can't," Y/N tried to stop crying, drying her tears, "Even though you're safe, I just can't seem to stop."
"Y/N..." I blushed, thinking of something.

Y/N's Pov.

I closed my eyes. I wasn't lying. My tears just won't stop coming down no matter how hard I tried to make them stop. I, suddenly, felt Sonic's hand grab the back of my neck. I opened eyes quickly as I wondered what he was thinking.
"Sonic, what-" I was cut off when my head was pulled down and Sonic placed his lips onto mine. My eyes went wide for a moment as I blushed bright pink, before I melted into the sweet kiss, enjoying every second of it. Sonic pulled away a minute later, blushing too.
"See Y/N," Sonic started, "No more tears." I didn't notice at first, but I wasn't crying anymore.
"Also, Y/N..." Sonic waited a second, "I love you." I gasped slightly before blushing again. After contemplating Sonic's confession, I calmed my blush and smiled.
"I love you too, my brave hero." I said. The moment I said that, Sonic pulled me into another kiss. I closed my eyes and savored it just as much as I did the last one.

Tails's Pov.

"Aww, that's so cute!" Amy said.
"Hush Amy, or they'll hear us." I told her, as we were all hiding outside the treatment room.
"Oops, sorry."
"Do you think it will work out okay between them?" Knuckles asked.
"If you think that they aren't a good couple, then I will-" Amy cut herself off, pulling out her hammer, frightening Knuckles. I only laughed.
"Oh, I think it will work out just fine." I declared, grinning.
