Sonic's Pov.

Since I had another hour before Y/N finished school, I decided to go for a run and check out her neighborhood. It was pretty big, I'll say that, but awfully quiet compared to some places back at Mobius. Did everyone had gone to school today? I didn't really question it much and kept running. I went back to that park where Y/N and I met the second time. It was, also, the first time that I held her- wait, don't think like that Sonic! I shook my head, trying to clear the thought as I walked around the park. It was empty, with the exception of the animals of course, but had no people... just like when Y/N and I were here. I saw the same bushes and tree where I hid from Y/N before surprising her. I chuckled, remembering the look on her face when I scared her. Then, a thought came across. Why was I thinking about Y/N so much? Was it because she's my new friend or because she found the first chaos emerald? I was snapped out of my thoughts when I realized that I was suppose to meet her back at her house. I ran over there as fast as I could and waited in her room. After about a few minutes of waiting, I was starting to worry. Y/N should've been back by now, so why isn't she? I suddenly heard the phone ring. It was probably just Y/N's parents wondering if she was home or not. After letting it ring for a while, it finally went into voicemail-mode (idk), and I heard her voice.
"Hey, it's Y/N. If you're there Sonic, I'd like to speak with you." Not a moment later, I ran towards the phone and picked it up.
"Y/N? Why you calling me?" I asked her.
"I just want to tell you that I'm busy today. I already promised F/N that I would stay at their house and do homework."
"But didn't you tell me to meet at your house after school?" I wondered.
"Yeah, I kind of forgot about my original plans." I heard her reply nervously.
"Oh..." Was all I could say. I felt sort of sad that I could spend time with Y/N today, but I'm sure that she had a good reason.
"I'm really sorry, but maybe we can hang out tomorrow. I'll tell F/N ahead of time that I'm going to be with someone else."
"Alright then!" I became happy, even though I still had to wait until tomorrow to see her.
"Again, I'm really sorry, but-"
"No need for any 'buts.' Besides, you have to spend time with your friends too." I cut her off.
"Thank you for understanding. Bye!"
"See ya tomorrow!" I hung up.
I should've completely understood that Y/N had other friends too and couldn't just spend time with us, but I still felt kind of upset and I couldn't figure out why. Was it because I couldn't see Y/N- No! Don't think things like that Sonic! She's a human! But then... why do I have this funny feeling inside me?
