Two days had past and the aching in Barry's heart was still there. The speedster was deeply hurt with Gen leaving. He didn't believe he could truly keep the city safe anymore.
Of course Iris and Joe asked where Gen was, but Barry told them she was off for work..
Looking the two people that meant the most to him in the eyes and flat out lying to them only made the ache in his chest grow.

Barry sped back into Star Labs after taking down yet another meta-human.
"I swear everytime I take down one meta-human two just pop back up." Barry sped out of his suit and into a pair of sweats and a Star Labs sweatshirt.
Caitlin stood up from her chair near the computer and sighed, "I guess there are more than we truly thought."
He took a seat at one of the computers and sighed. Caitlin had walked into the other room and was dialing a number.
"Hey, have you heard from Gen? It's been like 3 days and she still owes me lunch."
Barry scratched the back of his neck and his gaze was glued to the ground.
"No not really, she must be working or something."
Caitlin hummed and nodded. "Maybe."
Barry's phoned buzzed in his pocket and he quickly took it out. When he read the text he immediately stood up and headed for the exit.
"Barry?" Caitlin called out, but he didn't pay any mind to her.
The text he just got was from Joe.
You better get to the station quick. Aomething happened at Gen's firm.
In seconds Barry was running theough the streets of Central City and was stepping out of the elevator.
He spotted Joe scurrying around, talking to differwnt cops and reading over papers that were handed to him.
Barry quickly walked over to him and pulled him aside, "What happened? It sounded pretty urgent."
"Have you talked to Gen at all the past couple of days? Because she hasn't been at the house." Joe asked firmly.
Barry blinked a few times before answering, "No I haven't. When I laat spoke to her she said she was going out of town for a case."
"With a wounded arm? She couldn't of gone by herself." Joe shook his head.
Barry held up a hand, stopping Joe from saying anything else, "Wait, what is going on?"
"Barry, we found one of her co-workers dead. Shot in the head three times."
Joe began to walk off, but Barry grabbed his arm.
"Who?"
Joe looked at him doubtfully, "I think it'd be best to keep you on the basics. I just need you to run some finger-"
"Joe," Barry cut him off, "you've got to tell me. Who did you find?"
Joe slowly shook his head, as if he was regretting ever calling Barry in the first place, and sighed.
"Her name is Delilah. Delilah Simmons"

Honestly, I feel like no one really likes this book. I don't know maybe it's just me, but any constructive criticism is always appreciated.
And I'm actually kind of sad Delilah is dead. Or maybe she isn't. Who knows.
