You can say the atmosphere of the car ride home was....tense.

Gen sat in the passenger seat of Oliver Queen's car in silence, her gaze straight ahead. Her hand were clasped tightly in her lap. So tight her knuckles were slowly turning white.

Oliver sat in the driver's seat, totally and utterly silent. His jaw was set, his teeth clentched, and he gripped the steering wheel so hard it could break. The black sunglasses he wore hid the pure rage and hurt in his eyes.

7 years.

That's how long they've been apart.

When Oliver made his way back home from spending years on that 'deserted' island, Gen didn't bother calling. No email. Nothing.

It seemed Gen had chalked off that period of her life.

Gen quickly glanced at Oliver, hoping he'd say something, anything. Truthfully, the choking silence was killing her.

It was killing Oliver too. It's been 6 years, no phone cal or anything, and she just calls up asking for a favor. The absolute nerve of this girl.

20 minutes ago:

Oliver stared down at the familiar face of Genevieve Snow.

His Gen.

He wanted to drop his umbrella and swoop her in the biggest hug ever and never let her go. On the other hand he wanted to get in her face and demand why now she decided to show up.

Where was she when Thea and his mother needed her?

When they were mourning him and his father, think they'd never them again?

How could she do that to them?

"Ollie I-"

He clentched his jaw, "Don't call me that."

She looked up into his eyes and knew she blew it, but she had her reasons for not calling.

Oh god Thea probably hates her guts.

"Oll-...Oliver, please just listen. I can explain."

"Oh that's great," he rolled his eyes, "what, are you going to tell me the grief was too much and seeing Thea and my mother everyday added on to that pain?"

Well, that was what she was going to tell him. Half of it was true, what he said. The grief was too much for her, but never in a million years would she have thought of leaving them. She needed them as much as they needed her.

She cringed slightly and sighed softly, "I never intended to leave them. I swear Oliver I never wanted to hurt anyone."

"Well you did a good job at doing that," he said in a low, cold voice.

Drops of rain dropped down her face and soaked her clothes, but that didn't matter to her. She never expected Oliver to act so...cold towards her.

I guess disappearing from your ex-boyfriend's life for 6 years will have that effect.
