*Mark's Point of View*
Brilynne ran into the house and immediately Mark shot up
"Hey princess how was school?"
"It was good daddy. Why are you on the floor? Where are your pants? When is Molly coming for dinner? Why do you look so sweaty?"
"Slow down sweetie. I laid down on the floor to pick something up and I just never got up. I forgot to put my pants on and Molly isn't coming over tonight. She's busy."
"She can't be too busy to have dinner with us. She promised. Tonight's lasagna night and that's her favorite food. She told me yesterday. And she said we were gonna talk about the slumber party. She said I could invite Ronnie and Sophie, so I did. Look she even made pretty invitations and left them in the mailbox like she said she would." she lifted the cards in the air to show him the frilly pink invitations. They were true princess cards. "It's Saturday night daddy. I can still go right? It's my first ever slumber party."
"We'll talk about it later. Go wash up for dinner." he had no idea what he was gonna do. He'd totally forgotten about their plan. He was still upset with Molly, but he wouldn't punish his daughter just to spite Molly. She did need some girl time because she was stuck around guys all day. She needed to have some fun. He just needed time.
When she was out of earshot his roommates interrogated him.
"Where's Molly?"
"How'd the day go before we found you on the floor?"
Mark just rolled his eyes and started cleaning up, ignoring the questions.
"Mark talk to us! What happened?"
"Nothing" he finally answered fixing the table for dinner. His roommates knew he was lying
"Mark what the fuck happened?"
"Daddy! Daddy! Sophie and Ronnie wanna say thank you to you." she ran into the room with the phone in her hand in the air on speaker.
"Thank you Bree's daddy for getting a cool new girlfriend and letting us have a slumber party. Yay!" The girls screamed happily on the phone as Brilynne screeched and hugged him as well.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! thank you daddy!" she screeched then walked back into her room.
Mark sat down at the counter and stopped cleaning.
"You gonna spill now?"
"What happened?"
"I need to go grab the computer. After dinner I'll tell you everything." he said then walked away into his room to put on pants.

They all sat down for dinner and talked about their days except Mark and Brilynne took notice
"Daddy how was your day?"
He snapped out of whatever temporary trance he was in and answered his daughter
"It was fine princess"
"What'd you do?"
"Nothing. I just hung around the house. Slept a lot you know daddy's tired."
