The morning comes with the sound of a loud alarm from Mark's room. I glare over at his door, and he opens it. He's already in jeans and a hoodie." Morning Lyca." He says, and turns on my bedroom light. I rub my eyes, and yawn loudly." Do you have to be so happy in the morning?" I ask, and he smiles." I'm a morning person, I can't help it." He says, and helps me up. I pull on some Adidas sweatpants, black jacket, red T-shirt, and my Converses. Mark pulls my hair up into a pony tail, and hands me a packed lunch." I need to get you some money." He says, and I nod. He walks me out to the car, and drives me to school. We pickup coffee as usual, and he drops me off in front of the school." I'll be home when you get home, I can't pick you up though." He says, and I say okay." Danny picking me up?" I ask, and he nods." Yeah, I just need to run an errand." He says, and I shrug. Okay, see ya." I tell him, and get out of the car. Robbie's standing next to my locker, and he's looking around every few seconds.

"Leah is looking for you. So stay out of her sights." He tells me after I get my things." Believe me, I'm trying. I almost got caught by her while walking in, and hid in the bathroom for at least ten minutes." I tell him, and we walk to seminar." Well, stay out of her sights." He says, and we set our things down in seminar. Our seminar teacher looks up at us, and squinted at us behind his glasses." You guys did well on Monday." He says before continuing his chapter book. I start shaking in Seminar, and Robbie rubs my back." Don't worry, I'll keep you safe." He says, and I smile at him.

The bell rings, and we walk to Art class. Mr. Jackson is in the back room, and he looks over at me. His eyes are filled with fear. I set my things down, and go over to the backroom." Lyca, I think you should leave, just stay in the office for first hour." He says, and I look at him confused." Why?" I ask, and he looks around the room." Because Leah will kill you. You made her look like a fool in front of everyone." He says, and I shrug." She had it coming, she barely put anything into that drawing." I say, and he wipes his sweaty forehead." If you think you can deal with her." He says, and I nod. But in reality, I'm horrified. I don't know what she'll do to me.

The Art door opens, Leah and her friends walk in. She sees me, and she sets her things down at her desk. Everyone is quiet as she walks toward me. Robbie is next to me, making sure he can stop her if she tries anything. She stops in front of me, and looks me up and down." You did good Lyca." She says without a smile, and I nod softly toward her. She turns to walk away, then turns back quickly. She hits me with a hard punch across the cheek. She has a ring on her hand, and it claws my skin open. I collapse onto the ground, and pass out.

When I wake up, I'm in the nurses office. It smells clean in here, like a hospital. I groan in pain, and hear people gasp." Lyca? Can you hear me?" It's Mr. Jackson, and I slowly open my uninjured eye. I can barely open it, and my vision is blurry for a moment. Robbie, Mr. Jackson, and the nurse stand around the table I'm on. I gasp in pain as I feel shocking pain in my stomach and chest. Robbie places his hand on my shoulder, and tells me it's going to be okay. I'm on my back, and the nurse is putting some rubbing alcohol on my injuries. I turn my head away from her, and she tells me not to move." Stop, I'm....fine." I say, and struggle to get up. Robbie helps me by letting me grasp onto his arm." I've called Mark, he's on his..." Just as Robbie says that, the door of the Nurse's office opens. Mark stands there with fear in his eyes.

He looks like he just ran here from the Grump Station. He's wearing sweatpants, a pale blue shirt, and Nikes." Lyca!" Mark says, and runs over to me. He hugs me softly, and I place my arms around his neck. His warmth calms me down, and I shut my eyes for a moment." I'm so glad you're safe." He says, and kisses my cheek." How long was I out?" I ask as Mark checks my face, and Mr. Jackson tells me for about an hour." We're sending you home for the rest of the week to recover, and we don't want you doing any homework. Just go home and rest. Don't strain yourself." The nurse says, but I'm not listening that much.
