I wake up on the couch, and feel really drowsy. I cough a few times, and feel as if my head weighs a ton. My vision blacks out every few seconds, and I can hear my heartbeat in my ears. There's a blanket on me, but I feel as if it's negative thirty in here. My body feels numb in some parts, and yet I have sweat dripping off my forehead. I'm shivering, and I feel as if I'm going to vomit. I hear Mark and Jack talking, but it's all mumbled to me. I can only make out a few words." Sick....might have flu....maybe call a doctor?" I don't know who says it, but my body doesn't care right now. It just wants sleep, and I give in. My eyes shut, and I pass out. I can hear some soft voices, then feel arms around me." My baby girl." I hear, and feel warm. I think it's a blanket, but I'm not sure. My body is relaxed, and I feel so tired. Yet, I feel as if I'm just never fully asleep.
I open my eyes a little bit later, and see Mark sitting at the end of the bed. He's talking to someone on the phone." I'm keeping an eye on her, don't worry. Yes, she's fine. Hasn't woken up yet. I'll text you when she does. Just get back soon, and make sure you have everything." He says, and hangs up the phone. I'm guessing he was talking to Jack, because I don't hear other footsteps anywhere. I'm in Mark's bedroom, and I feel layers of blankets on me. There's also an ice pack on my forehead, and it's cooling my burning forehead." What am I going to do?" I hear, and look over at Mark. I move without any noise, and sit up. I set the ice pack next to me, and pull the blanket down so I can free my arms.
"Mark?" I ask, and he looks over at me." Lyca? What are you doing up?" He asks, and he moves closer to me. He sets his hand on my forehead, and I smile at him. He's hands warm against my forehead." I'm not tired anymore, I'm okay now." I say, and he places his hand on my cheek." You're really warm, you sure you're okay?" He asks, and I nod." I'm thirsty." I say, and Mark takes the glass of water from the nightstand. I take big gulps out of it, then sets it back down on the nightstand." You hungry at all?" He asks, and I nod." A little bit." I say, and he smiles at me." Okay, you want to join me downstairs while I make you food?" He asks, and I nod." Yeah." Then he takes me into his arms. He grabs a box of tissues, then carries me downstairs. He sets me on the couch, and hands me the box of tissues. I blow my nose loudly as Mark opens a can of Chicken soup.
"So I've made a doctor's appointment for you today, and after that we'll head over to the Grump Station." He says and I see him adding some ingredients to the soup." That sounds wonderful." I say, and blow my nose again. My body doesn't really show any signs of being sick. No redness of the nose, no coughing, not anything like that. I usually just have a runny nose, I'm really tired, and I feel as if I'm going to vomit. I don't really vomit, but I feel as if I will. I get sick twice in a year, but it's a severe flu. I can't get out of bed, I'm mostly unconscious the entire time. Yet this time I'm not, maybe because I'm actually being taken care of. I'm being given the actual medicine and treatment for my flu. Mark slowly stirs the soup, and watches me carefully take another tissue into my hands." Hey..." Before I can fully say the word, he's standing right net to me." What's the matter? What do you need?" He asks, and sits down next to me." I was just wondering if I could go get my drawing pad?" I ask, and he looks upstairs." I'll get it, you just stay down." He says, and runs upstairs. He comes back with my drawing book and pencils, then he hands them to me.
"You don't have to baby me over this." I tell him, and he smiles." You are my daughter, so I get to baby you as much as I want." He says, and hugs me. I smile at him, and start drawing as he continues to cook the soup. I start drawing other Youtubers, and smile at how beautiful the pictures turn out. I haven't been drawing lately, and I thought it would show in how I draw. It doesn't at all, it's still very beautiful to me. My detail in everything, the marks of shadows on the faces of the people. I've known that my mind is the medicine that my body's wounds need. That sounds weird doesn't it?
I sit there drawing, and Mark snatches the drawing pad out of my hands. He replaces it with a bowl of hot soup, and looks through my drawings." Damn Lyca, you are way too good at this. I mean, look at this. This is like Museum art right here." He says, and I sip at my soup." It's not that good." I say, and he rolls his eyes. I finish up the bowl of soup, then lean against Mark as I get cold again." You're shaking Lyca." Mark says, and he pulls the blanket more around me. He hugs me tightly, and his warmth wraps around me better then the blanket." Get ready for the doctors." He says, and sets me on the ground. I go upstairs, and pull on warm clothes. Black sweats, red hoodie, blue beanie, and Nike's.
I walk back down the stairs, and find Mark wiping his glasses off." Hey, you ready to go?" He asks, and I nod." Can we get a heated blanket before we go to the Grumps?" I ask, and Mark puts my coat on me." They have six over there Lyca." He says, and I say okay." You ready to go now?" He asks, and I nod. I put my hand into his, and we walk out to the car." She isn't going to give me a shot?" I ask, and he shakes his head. He opens the car for me, and I sit down in the passenger seat." I'll make sure of it that she doesn't." I smile at him, and he puts my seat belt on me. He shuts the passenger door, then gets into the driver's seat. He touches my forehead, and smiles at me." You're a little bit cooler." He says, and I smile at him." I get well from a cold really quickly. Sometimes it takes me just two days." I tell him, and he smiles at me." That's good, because our trip to go see Bob and Wade is coming up soon. We'll be there for about two weeks probable." He says, and I smile." I'm so excited!" I say, and he laughs.
We get to the doctor's office, and are brought back when we enter the office. The doctor checks my temperature, my ears, my throat, and also my eyes." Yep, she has a cold. I'll give her some antibiotics to clear it quickly." She says, and makes a prescription for me." Take one a day until you feel better." She says to me as she gives Mark the piece of paper. I nod, and jump off the table. I follow Mark out of the office, then we get back into the car." Okay, time to go to the Grump Station." He says, and starts the car up. We stop at a local Pharmacy to get my medicine, then go to the Grumps place. They were all happy to see me, then I see Jack there as well." Hey sweetie, you feeling any better?" He asks, and I nod." A little bit yeah, the cheek wound still hurts a bit." The bandages had been redone by the doctor, and she said it was healing up very well.
Mark plugged in a heated blanket near the couch, and set it on me as I laid down to sleep." Now she has to have a glass of water every two hours, and some food in her." Mark says, and I see Danny standing over the couch. He smiles at me, and he takes my hand into his. I shut my eyes after a while, still holding onto Danny's hand." She's so precious." I hear, and then a chuckle." Yeah, she is." I hear Mark say.
The house is quiet, more quiet then it is usually when I get home from school. There's no noise at all. I walk upstairs, and see that all the doors are opened, and there's no one here." Hello?" I call out, trying to figure out if it's actually empty. I feel that panicky feeling I get when I'm alone. I start crying out names, and then clutch onto my chest. The sky gets dark as a storm goes over the building, and I start screaming.
I sit up, and it's dark in the living area of the Grump Station. The lights are out all around the couch, only where the computers were was lit up by lights. I look up around the room, and I'm sweaty all over. My body feels as if it's refreshed, and the sickness must have passed by now. I crawl out from underneath the blanket, and look at my phone. It's six in the morning, I've been out all night. I stare over at the computers, and walk over to them. I hear the noise of talking in the Grump's recording room. I walk over to the door, and press my ear against it." He's asleep finally, can't believe we passed out before him. He looks exhausted." It sounds like Suzy, and I knock on the door. Silence fills the room, and the door slowly opens." Oh, Lyca." Suzy whispers when she sees me, and tells me to be quiet." Mark's sleeping. You feeling any better?" She asks as she lets me in. I nod, and look over at Mark. He's sitting on the couch with his head against his hand. He looks very tired, and I sit down next to him.
I can hear him snoring softly, and smile at him. He looks like actual beauty when he's asleep. I love how his hair drops over his eyes, the way he looks so calm, and the way he looks at peace. I feel Danny's hand on mine, and see Jack sleeping on the floor. His head is on Mark's foot, and he has a blanket around his chest. I smile, and lean against Danny. He touches my forehead, and sighs with relief." You feel cool." He says, and I smile." Thank god." I say, and he hugs me tightly." Why don't we just leave this couple to sleep, and let's go get breakfast." Arin says, and I nod." Breakfast sounds amazing right now." I tell him, and get up with Danny. I so hungry I can eat a horse.
