Mark and I were both really tired after our flight, so we went to sleep in Mark's old bedroom.  I lay on the ground because Mark is sprawled out on his bed, and I've taken one of his blankets from his closet.  The floor is actually really comfortable, and it's warm.  I'm all snuggled up on the ground, ready to sleep, when I hear someone shouting."  Mark Fischbach!"  I hear, and sit up.  Nona is standing in the doorway, her hands on her hips while she glares at Mark's sleeping body.  Mark sits up, and looks at his mother."  What?  What did I do?"  He asks, and his Mother grunts."  You let daughter sleep on floor?  What father you are!"  She says, and Mark looks down at me."  What are you doing on the floor?"  He asks me, and I shrug."  It's comfy and warm."  I say, and he just shakes his head."  Sorry Mom, come here Lyca."  He says, and I crawl up onto the bed next to him."  Better, now sleep."  Nona says, and shuts the door after shutting off the lights.  Mark wraps his arms around me, and kisses my cheek."  You could've just woken me up."  He whispers in the dark, and I have to find his shirt to remember where he is.

"I didn't want to, that is rude to do to someone who is tired."  I say, and Mark rolls his eyes."  You're too kind for your own good."  He says, and I rub my head against his chest."  You tired?"  He asks, and I nod into his shirt.  He doesn't say anything after that, he just holds me tight.  His arms wrap around me like a warm blanket, and I smile at him.  I slowly shut my eyes, feeling sleep overtake me.  My body hurts from sitting up for almost four hours, and I just want to disappear into the blankets.  I fall asleep, and start dreaming about the stars.  They're blue, purple, green, and red all mixed together.  The planets move around in the large area, and glitter as they spin in my vision.

I wake up slowly, and it's daylight again."  We slept all day."  I mumble to myself, and realize I'm alone."  Correction, I slept all day."  I say to no one, and get out of bed.  I hear laughter and smell something delicious coming from the kitchen.  I open Mark's bedroom door, and walk out into the hall.  The smell of eggs and delicious pancakes fills my nose."  You sure she like this?"  Nona asks someone, and someone says yes.  I walk into the kitchen, and see Nona with Mark sitting at the counter."  Honey bun!"  He says, and picks me up off the ground.  He sets me down on his lap, and plays with my hair."  Morning Nona."  I say, and Nona smiles."  Morning Lyca."  She says, and Mark grins at me."  You hungry hun?"  Mark asks me, and I shrug."  I could eat."  I tell him, and he smiles."  She eat, I cook food."  Nona says, and Mark chuckles."  Yeah, Mom has been flipping out about what to cook for you.  Because of your weight."  He says, poking my flat stomach."  Well, I usually don't Nona."  I say, feeling myself shiver.

"You in my house, you eat my food."  She says with a smile.  She places a plate of pancakes and eggs in front of me, and hands me a fork."  Thank you."  I say, and she nods at me.  I see her give Mark a look, and catch a glimpse of him looking sad."  I need to use the restroom."  I say, and get off his lap.  I shut the door of the bathroom while being out in the hall still, and listen to them."  Tell me truth Mark."  She says, and Mark sighs."  She was abused by her brother.  He raped her, beat her, and did other things I'm not willing to say.  Mom, he came to kill her.  He almost killed me, and almost killed her.  She killed him to save us."  Nona is silent for a moment, but I hear her cut into her food that she set out for all of us."  Is heart beautiful?"  She asks Mark, and I hear him move."  Her heart?"

"Is she kind?  Is she loving?"  Nona asks, and I scoot closer to the kitchen."  Yes, people she has my personality.  She gets bullied at school, but she remains like her true self.  She's nice to everyone she meets, but she's rather shy as well.  She can't even speak to new people unless I introduce her.  But she's just so..."  Mark can't figure out the word and I walk back into the room."  I think the word you're looking for is 'peculiar'."  I tell him, and sit in the chair next to him."  You were listening?"  He asks, and I nod."  I'm very good at listening."  I say, and take a bite of food."  Is what he says true?"  Nona asks, and I nod."  Abused since I was born, and it finally ended this year.  When your son took me in under his wing as he said, right?"  I ask him, and he nods."  Yep, that's what I told you."  He says, and I give him the rest of my food.  Nona smiles at us, and finishes her food.
