Plane

The plane levels out, and the pilot says the flight will take two hours. Mark says Pax is in Washington, and that it's suppose to be a big out come." We're going to land near the Border of California to fill up again, then we'll continue to Washington." Mark explains, and I nod. Danny has his head on the arm rest, and is out like a light." Is he sick?" I ask, Mark shakes his head." No, he took a Xanax before getting on the plane." He says, and starts writing out something on his papers. I pull out my chapter book, and pull the blanket Mark brought on the plane over my legs." You okay?" He asks, and I nod." Just cold." I say. I start reading my chapter book, and lean against Mark's arm. I start reading chapter after chapter, page after page." Is it good?" Mark asks as he starts putting his papers away." Yeah, really good. What about your book? Did you start it yet?" I ask him, and he shakes his head.

"No, not yet. I'm going to start it soon." He says, and puts his bag under his feet. Danny moves his head into my lap, and I smile at him." Uncle Danny is sleepy." I say, Mark puts his free hand around my shoulders. He kisses my cheek, and snuggles close to me." Promise me you'll be next to me everywhere we go in Pax." I say, looking up at him." I promise that I won't leave you alone for one second." He promises, and kisses my cheek again. The stuartress comes around, asking if we want food or anything." What kind of food do you have?" Mark asks." We have mini pizzas, pretzels, chips, and others." We both ask for mini pizzas, and get glasses of water. We eat silently, and we read our books together, leaning against each other.

" What's yours about?" He asks as I flip to another Chapter." It's basically Harry Potter but with Vampires." I say." Well, mines about a kid who's turned into a spy." He says, and I smile at him. I tuck my book away, and pull out my toy Lion. I snuggle close to him, with my head on his chest. He puts the arm rest up, then wraps his arms around me. I keep my legs where they are so Danny can keep sleeping, and fall asleep against Mark.

I wake up to the plane going down. Danny is slowly waking up, and his hair is all over his face. He rubs his face, and I take my pillow back from him." Hello sleepyhead." I say, and Mark hugs me tightly. He looks like he's been sleeping as well. His glasses are off and his head is against mine, he wipes his eyes with his other hand." You sleep well too?" I ask, looking up at him." Yeah, real good." He says, and holds me closer. Danny yawns loudly, and I look over at Arin and Suzy. Suzy looks like she's going to vomit, and Arin looks like he's having the best time of his life. He's reading his book now, and has his hood over his head. I turn the other way to see Ross and Barry looking at the same magazine. The plane lands, and we get off the plane so it can go get refueled. We're told we have an hour to go eat food and get drinks. It's almost ten o'clock, and we're all exhausted. Once we get back on the plane, it should be an hour until we get into Washington.

We walk to the nearest open restaurant, and get a table. We order some snacky foods, and also some coffee for us who were extremely tired. Danny is still on his Xanax, and will be falling asleep when we get back on the plane." Lyca? You want some?" Mark asks, handing me his coffee cup. Mark drinks his coffee with tons of cream and two sugars. I take a sip of it, and it's really sweet. I take another drink of it, and hand it back to him. I rub my arms for warmth, and pull a jacket out of my bag. I wrap it around my shoulders, and Danny gets up." Danny? Where are you going?" Arin asks, and Danny looks over at us." I need to go to the bathroom. Lyca, come with me." He says, and I get out of my chair. I hold his hand as we walk toward the bathroom.

"Stay out here, and wait until I come out please." He says, and goes into the restroom. After a little bit, he comes out. He's wiping his mouth, and his face his all wet." Did you puke?" I ask, and he nods as he takes my hand." Yeah, I'm really bad with planes." He says, and we walk back to the table. Mark looks concerned as I help Danny into his seat." What happened?" He whispers to me as I sit down next to him." He got sick." I whisper back, and he nods." Dan, you okay?" He asks him, and Danny nods." Yep, fine." Danny sips his coffee now, and eats some food that's been placed on his plate.  He eats two plates full of food, and has two glasses of water, and he looks like a new man.

We pay the bill, and Mark takes my hand.  He hand is really warm, and is tightly wrapped around mine.  Over the intercom, we hear that our plane is ready.  Mark and the others walk in front of me, and I can hear them talking about something.  We head back to where are plane is boarding again, and we get back to our seats. Danny wraps his arms around my waist, and I put my head on Mark's chest after he puts my seatbelt on me. He yawns loudly, and pulls his glasses off again. I have my shark pillowpet in my arms, and snuggle in close to Mark.   He wraps his arms around my shoulders, and gets close to me as well.  I feel the plane lift off the ground, and fall asleep.

I wake up to someone shaking me. I sit up, and see Danny pushing his hair back away from his eyes.  He looks really tired, and he gets out of his seat. I look up to see Mark smiling at me. We've landed in Washington. He takes my belt off for me, and I get out of my seat.  We grab our bags, and get off the plane. Mark picks me up the minute we get off the plane, and carries me in his arms. I wrap my arms around his neck, and shut my eyes for a little bit. We get our luggage, then get into our rental car. Mark sets me down in the car, and I pull my seat belt on. I rub my eyes, and look at the clock in the car. It's almost midnight. Mark sis down next. Me one back, Danny next to him.  Arin is driving, Suzy in the passenger seat, Ross and Barry are seat in the second set of seats in the middle.  As we drive through the city, I stare in amazement outside my window.  The lights are still on, and the city looks alive still, people going to parties and looking drunk."  It's beautiful."  I say, and Mark smiles at me."  I'm glad you like it, but right now we all need sleep."  He says, and I nod.  I rub my eyes again, and lean against him.

Our hotel is a huge building, and is lit up like a beacon.  Arin parks the car outside the hotel, and we get out.  I hold Mark and Danny's hands as we get into the hotel, and Suzy asks for our room keys.  She gets them from the front desk, and we take the elevator up to the third floor.  We're all tired, and we just want a good night's rest.  We walk to our hotel room, and get set up.  Suzy and Arin have a bed together, Mark and I do, Danny and Barry, and Ross is on the hide a bed couch.  We get into our pajamas, and crawl into our beds.  It's close to one in the morning.  Mark lets me crawl in bed first, so I'm closest to the wall.  He crawls into the bed after me, and lets out a sigh.  I move into his arms, and he kisses my forehead."  Goodnight Mark."  I say."  Goodnight Lyca."  He says back, and shuts his eyes.  I shut my eyes as well, and fall asleep.
