The next morning, I don't want to get out of bed. I'm so exhausted from yesterday, my mind doesn't register that it's morning. It only makes the connection when I feel Mark lift me up out of bed. I go limp as he pulls me into his arms, and he starts laughing a little bit." Come on sweetheart, time for breakfast." He says, picks me up in his arms. I lean my head on his shoulder, and groan a bit." You hungry?" He asks, and I nod." Coffee....and toast." I say, and he laughs a bit." I'll make sure you get that." He says, and carries me into the elevator." Are the others awake already?" I ask, and he nods." Yeah, Danny said you had a hard time falling asleep last night." I nod, and raise my head up a bit." Yeah, my mind wouldn't shut off." I say through a yawn, and Mark rubs my leg." Where you thinking about you going Black?" He asks, and I nod.
"It felt really good to be honest, letting some anger out. But...something happened. I..controlled it."
"What! What do you mean?" He asks, stunned at what I've just told him." I don't mean like full on control, but I was able to make it happen. The moment I saw him, I made myself go Black." I say, and Mark is just speechless." So, I'm guessing because he did such an evil thing to you, your mind saw him as a huge threat. So you went off, and you made yourself go off." Mark says, and rubs my leg some more." Yeah, because he is a big threat. He's always been, because I'm terrified of him." I say, and Mark nods." Well, it's done now. Nothings going to happen to you anymore. As long as I'm here." He says, and I nod. Mark carries me into the dining hall, where the Grumps are sitting with a huge group of fans." We have to eat breakfast with them again?" I ask, and Mark nods." Calm down, you don't have to sit down next to one. You can sit in my lap." He says, and I yawn again.
"Hey Mark!" A fan says, and Mark smiles." Hey guys, we'll be right over there. We need to get breakfast." He says, and they all smile at him. Mark sets me down so he can get a plate, and I keep a hand full of cloth from his pajama pants in my hand as he puts food on a plate for us." You like bananas?" He asks, and I nod." Okay, and do you want a waffle?" I nod again, and he gets me one." Okay , let's go sit down." He says, and I walk behind me. He sits down, then pulls me onto his lap." So, you guys having another signing today?" A fan asks, and Mark nods." Yep, we'll have one from one to five." Mark replies, and I bite into my waffle." So Lyca, how did you sleep last night?" Danny asks me, and I notice some of the fans glaring at me." Not so good." I say, and they look like they're going to ripe my face off.
I eat in quiet as they talk, and shiver in front of the fans. Why do they hate me? Is it because Mark has to take care of me? Or is it because he pays more attention to me then them? Well, I'm basically his kid. I live with the guy." Lyca? Hey Lyca?" I look up, and see the fan across from me smiling." Hey, you okay?" She asks, and I look at the other fans. They are staring at her in shock, and I just look at her. She's wearing a gray flannel, and her hair is up in a bright blue beanie. Her hair is really short, and she is wearing a gold ring on her finger." I'm good, thank you. Are you married?" I ask her, and she looks down at her ring." Yep, for about a year now. She and I are very happy." She says.
"You married a woman? That's possible?" I ask, and she nods." Yeah, she and I are very happy together. I let her sleep in tonight." She says, and I smile." That sounds amazing, I hope you two have a happy life." I tell her, and she blushes." Thank you, I hope you and Mark have a happy life as well." A fan next to her groans, and she looks over at her." What? You don't like her?" The woman asks, her teeth showing." Yeah, she has no right to be here. This is suppose to be us and Mark. Not her, she doesn't belong here. And neither do you, you Lesbian whore!" The woman says, and the girl stands up." You don't have any right to say anything like that. This girl has been abused beyond a person's will, and she's going strong still. I'm a happy married woman, and we're adopting a kid next month. You will probable not have a boyfriend by that time, and I'll have a beautiful baby girl in my arms. You should be ashamed of yourself!" She says, and I feel my heart skip a beat. Fights, screaming, yelling. Reminds me of Mom and Dad when both Todd and I were home.
