I sat in the kitchen doing my homework while mum washed dishes. I don't really hate school, honestly. I mean I hate going to school but schoolwork isn't that bad. It keeps me busy.

The phone rang and since mums hands were all covered in soap she asked me to get it but by the time I got up, she already dried her hands and answered it.

"Hello Dr. Tomlinson, of course you can talk to Luke." She smiled and handed me the phone.

I sighed- not loud enough for him to hear before saying, "Hello?"

"Hi Luke, how are you today?" He asked.

"I'm fine." I shrugged.

"Mhhm... keeping busy?" He asked as if he was doing something else while on the phone.

"Yeah, I guess."

"Great. Anyway I called to ask how are the pills working for ya?"

I swallowed hard and faked a, "Good."

There was a small silence, the sound of paper being flipped was heard on the other line before Dr. Tomlinson said, "You haven't taken them, have you?"

"No." I mumbled.

"What happened to our agreement? You just have to take them one night and that's it." He said.

"Well why don't you just tell my mum? She'll make me take them."

He chuckled lightly, "Because you're old enough to take them yourself and I trust you."

I sighed feeling guilt well up in my chest. I hate the word trust, or being trusted. It puts so much pressure on you and I hate pressure.

"Tell you what," Dr. Tomlinson said, " you take your pills tonight and all call you tomorrow... lets say 4-"

"I'll still be at my support group." I interrupted.

"Okay, how does 5:30 sound?" He asked.

"Good."

"Great. I'll call you then and we'll talk about if you should keep taking your pills. Sounds alright?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. Well you have a great evening and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Bye."

"Bye." I said but he already hung up.

I handed mum the phone who was standing over the table watching me like a hawk. She hung the receiver back up before sitting down at the table with a plate and towel in her hand.

"What was that all about?" She asked.

"Dr. Tomlinson wants me to take these new pills..." I shrugged.

"That's great!" Mum gushed.

"I suppose. He's gunna call me tomorrow to see if they work or not."

She nodded before whispering, "God I hope they do..."

I nodded slowly and added, "So do I."
