Usually mum or Piper come to pick me up but today I decide to walk. It is a pretty far walk but I like the fresh air. Especially when since we don't really live in a busy city so I can walk without random strangers bumping shoulders with me.

I walk past a small park where a group of boys, around 10, hanging out. They were all laughing and tackling each other. Too close for comfort in my opinion. But they seem to be having fun.

As I got closer to my house, I saw two cop cars and an ambulance. The ambulance drove away as soon as I got to our house, my heart racing when I saw Piper by a police officer. She has tears coming out of her eyes as he tries calming her down.

"W-What happened?" I ask.

"Is that him?" The officer asks Piper, who has her face covered by her hands.

She looks up at me and walks over.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Somethings wrong with mum." She says.

"What do you mean..?" I ask, my voice very faint.

"She passed out or something a-and I didn't know what to d-do so I called 9-1-1 and..."

"Do y'all need a ride to the hospital?" The police officer asked.

Piper burst into tears again. I walk up to her and wrap her in a hug as she sobbed into my shoulder. I was beginning to feel icky but I can't pull away.

"I'm sorry... I'm so so so sorry.." She cries.

"It's not your fault." I assure her.

"Come on guys." The cop said, patting Pipers shoulder.

He helps us into the car and drives off. Piper kept getting calls from our Aunt and cousins, asking about mum. I started to get more and more worried. I tried my hardest not to cry but it was no use. As soon as we pulled up to the ER I lost it.

We walk out and into the waiting room, the officer chatting with the nurses.

"It's all my fault..." Piper keeps saying.

It was freaking me out so I cover my ears. Soon I see a doctor walking up to the police officer. Then the officer and doctor walk up to us.

"Hi, I'm Dr. Denis." He says.

"Hi..." She says through teary eyes.

"How old are y'all?" He asks.

"I'm 19 and Ash is 18." Piper answers him.

The doctor smiles and starts small talk with us.

"Are you gunna tell us about our mum?" I asks, sick of dancing around the problem.

The doctor frowns but nods,

"Has your mum ever shown any signs of depression?" He asks.

Piper and I look at each other but shake our heads. The doctor frowns again and rubs his forehead.

"It seems as if your mother committed suicide."
