Chapter 3: To the Other Pack

Hello loves, it has been brought to my attention that some of you don't understand the purpose of Astrid. Every werewolf in this story has a human side and also a "wolf spirit". The human and werewolf spirit communicate in their minds. Kind of like talking to yourself. If I were to use Astrid and Kate as an example, Kate will be the human body and Astrid will be the wolf form that Kate takes when she shifts. Overall, Astrid and Kate are 2 DIFFERENT characters with different personalities and such, but together they ARE STILL ONE PERSON. (Check Clarifications chapter for what being a werewolf means in this story). More will be explained in Chapter 5. Thank you all again for taking a chance and reading this story! (100+ views?! My whole body aches the next morning, but thanks to my fast healing, most of my wounds had closed. Kate! Are you ready? I heard Sharon mind-link me and I jumped up with a start. Today was the day I was supposed to travel with Luna Elise to another pack! Coming! I mind-linked back. Astrid yipped in excitement, running in circles in my head.

I got showered and dressed in less than five minutes. Perks of being an omega, you didn't have to look good every day. I wondered which pack we would travel to as I grabbed my black duffle bag. It contained a plain, black dress for the greeting party, pajamas, heels and enough necessities for three days.

I sprinted to the front door. "Hey Sharon! Are you excited to travel or what?!" I whispered excitedly as we waited for the Luna to finish eating breakfast.

"I hope we meet our mates! We're 19 which means we have a chance!" Sharon giggled and dreamy look descended upon her face. Mates usually find each other between the ages of 18 and 20, but for in our circumstance, finding our mates would be damn near impossible.

"Girls, get my bags and meet Alpha Leo and I at the car." Luna Elise said sternly. She's always more tense when the Alpha was around.

"Yes, Luna." Sharon and I said as we quickly walked up the stairs. Together we struggled to carry the two large suitcases and our own bags. Luna Elise always over packed.

"Look how weak those omegas are!"

"Those suitcases look half filled! How pathetic!"

When I heard the whispers of mockery, I felt the anger I kept buried begin to rise. Astrid flattened her ears and her fur began to bristle. Let me at them. I'll show them to never disrespect us again! Astrid growled. I could feel her rage towards the disrespect, but I knew they weren't worth the beating I would get.

Tempting, but I can't. They aren't worth it. Just pathetic pups who feel the need to push us down. I thought to Astrid. With a huff, she stopped growling and sat down in my mind.

I looked at Sharon who looked as though she was about to tackle the laughing werewolf closest to us. "Hey, let's just hurry and get to the car okay?" I said attempting to calm her. Tensely, she nodded and we continued to stagger to the driveway.

We got the luggage in the trunks and waited to open the car doors for Luna Elise and Alpha Leo. I looked down the driveway and saw two other omegas and Gamma James. They were patiently waiting for the Alpha and Luna to arrive. The Beta mates had to stay behind and look after the pack.

"You know the Moonstone Pack will be a strong ally. Just play nice and be polite." Luna Elise said with a small smile on her face.

"That's showing weakness! I think Alpha Blake of the Moonstone Pack will appreciate a strong and stern alpha. Don't worry about it, they'll be our ally by tomorrow." Alpha Leo replied placing a kiss on the top of Luna Elise's head. Moonstone Pack? Sounds familiar... Astrid thought.
