Epilogue: Celestial Grace Gold

I felt myself drifting in a universe completely foreign to me. All I could see was the colour white, but this white was being tainted by a deep purple-like smoke. I looked down to see the deep purple pulling me like rope towards something so sinister that even I was at a loss of words.

Suddenly, the white light intensified and momentarily blinded me. My lives flashed before my eyes. My life as a human, my life as a vampire, my life as a mermaid, my life as a fairy, and it went on, and on. Now I knew who I was. My name is Celestial Grace Gold, the soul of the vessel that belonged to Kate Palladin the werewolf.

I drifted back and forth, aimlessly through the white light. I wondered when I would arrive, or where I would end up. Even though I would never admit it, I had missed my friends over the past two decades. I sighed in content as the white light lulled me to the peaceful tranquility of my past.

AAHHHH!

There was a scream. A scream filled with so much anguish that it would have sent the bravest men scampering, but this scream only made me grin. I was getting close, I was almost home. The white light around me faded into a deceivingly beautiful pink, magenta, and finally a warm red.

My surroundings continued to blaze and blur as I welcomed the scorching heat like a cool breeze on a humid summer day. I danced to the cries of the tortured souls that were once music to my ears.

Whatever was keeping me afloat was slowly weakening, but I was high up from the ground. Very high. I could make out the menacing demons trudging slowly across the marred and burned ground.

Once I drifted closer, they sensed my presence and slowly turned to face me. They grinned and licked their lips, believing I would be an easy target. A simple new soul returning to hell. Oh how they would come to regret setting their sights on me.

All at once, I began to plummet to the ground where they eagerly awaited to tear my soul apart. Smiling, I let myself crash into the bottom of the universe. The one place where only the most atrocious souls go. We were considered the defective ones. I felt all my bones fracture at the impact and I chuckled maniacally as I heard a familiar holler.

Slowly, I turned my head to see my friends. Nine of them. Five males and four females, five including me. I watched as they easily sliced through the colossal, sinister, giants as if they were butter. These demons were strong, no doubt about it, but it was clear they feared my friends. Everyone in hell feared us.

Blood showered down and quenched the dry grounds like a rainstorm. I sat up slowly as the battle nearly ended. I was glad I was still able to heal just as quickly as I could before I left. The last of the vertebrates in my spine clicked into place and I stood up with a grin.

My grin only widened as my friends passed me the final parts of my body. My wings were immediately drawn to my back. They were made of bones with a clear sheet of skin-like material covering them, and they were a magnificently enchanting dark purple. I put on the clothing, fastened the armour and checked the weapons my friends had brought me.

"Welcome back b*tch." I looked to my left and nodded at Marianne. Together, we glided through the hellish skies and back to our city. Dark Angel City is what the residents of hell call it. It was where we, the Vegaldey thrive.

The Vegaldey are the watchers of hell. We ensure nothing gets in or goes out that isn't supposed to. We work with the Upper, but everyone in the universe knows we do as we please. My friends and I are the ten strongest Vegaldey to ever exist, we were the first ten beings created by the Creator after all.

*****
For anybody who is a bit confused, this is what happens after Katy dies and where she goes. The idea of dark angels is one I wanted to play around with, and I may start a whole other book about the Vegaldey (dark angels).

The "happy" ending is coming, no worries, but the alternate ending will not have an epilogue to go with it. (I don't know when it will be up because summer school is a PAIN IN THE A*S).

On another note, GUESS WHO TURNED SIXTEEN TODAY?? WOOT WOOT.
