Chapter 21: Solution

Lunas all over the world began to arrive throughout the next twenty four hours. The majority of our pack continued to forge weapons and the rest of us prepped the pack house for about two hundred Lunas. Luckily neighbouring packs were willing to open up their own pack houses to help provide temporary residence.

The more Lunas that arrived with their country's languages and cultures, the more tensions and disagreements between packs all over the world began to crumble. We knew that without each others' help, we were all doomed.

"Food and drinks are available out in the training grounds. Alpha Blake will begin the Mind-link ceremony once the moon rises in about 5 hours." Vivian yelled over the noisy chatter.

The powerful aura that radiated off the Lunas was very different than the ones that radiate from Alphas. The Lunas' aura filled us all with tranquility that helped calm our nerves. If all the Alphas were gathered in one place, their aura would have only made our condition worse. We would've fed off of their intimidating aura and gotten more frightened.

I made my way down to the basement of the pack house to check on Liam and the process of the forging. As I descended down the basement steps, I could heard Liam's agitated growls as he gave out his orders. "No, no! Stop! We need to make more arrows! Anyone in any pack knows how to use a f**king bow and arrow, even the pups! That will help us more!" Liam shouted as he ran his fingers through his hair.

I wrapped my arms around his waist from behind. "Lion, they are trying their best. We all know you are trying your best too. I got it from here. Go upstairs and greet the Lunas will you? They are dieing to meet you." I kissed the back of his shoulder and immediately felt him relax.

"I love you, you know that right?" Liam turned around and kissed my forehead. "Let's hope the Lunas like me."

"I love you too." I closed my eyes and smiled contentedly as I savoured the feeling of his arms wrapped around me. If this war doesn't go our way... No, stop. You can't think like that. Astrid said firmly. You're right. With the Moon Goddess on our side, we are sure to win, I shook any remaining toxic thoughts in my head and stepped back from Liam's hold, "Hurry up, you have about two hundred Lunas waiting for you."

Liam chuckled and turned to face the pack members who were busy molding weapons from the Vekaldi Tears. "Kate's in command now, if I hear that you aren't following her orders, I'll break your jaw." With one last peck on my lips, he left the floor.

"Kate, we have a really big problem." Bryan, a good friend of Liam's made his way towards me.

"I'm sure we can find a solution to that problem." I said. Bryan was handsome, no doubt about it. His blue-green eyes, platinum blonde hair and Colgate white smile has done more than catch the eye of a female.

"What Liam and I have been worried about was the fact that we can't fight the Levagairs in our wolf form. According to your visions, our teeth and claws won't be able to penetrate their scales." Bryan said as he rubbed his eyes. I looked around and noticed just how exhausted everyone here was. They have been forging weapons for hours everyday and when they weren't, they were out in the fields training.

We had crates and crates of weapons piled up around the room. We must have created tens of thousands of weapons, but it still isn't enough for every wolf in the world to be armed. We had knives, spears, daggers, arrows, you name it, we got it all, but we have nothing for our wolf forms.

I grabbed a small mound of Vekladi tears from the never shrinking cube and began to play around. It was a strange substance, it was stretchable at touch, but easily hardened once the words "Vekani Dombaris" were spoken. "What if we didn't say Vekani Dombaris? Would the Vekaldi tears retain it's semi-solid structure?"

"Yes..." Bryan looked up from the spearhead he was creating.

"That's it! You've heard of retainers before, right? Those things humans wear after they get braces?" I remembered reading about retainers and braces from some old magazine in the Lunar Pack.

Bryan's eyes widened as he began to catch on. "Are you suggesting that we make retainers for werewolves?"

"Yes! We can shape them to our human teeth, and each time we shift, the Vekaldi tears will be able to change it's shape to fit our wolf's teeth! We can make the same things to put over our fingers and hands. Kind of like gloves, that way we can use our claws!" Everyone turned to me as they heard my idea.

"That could work!"

"What are we waiting for? Let's try it out!"

"Thank the Moon Goddess for Kate!"

Cheers from the pack rung out as they began to realize that fighting in their wolf forms was now an option. Everyone began to shape the Vekaldi Tears around their hands and mold it to their teeth.

"Make sure the piece of Vekaldi tears you guys are using are thin enough to be able to close your mouth comfortably. Same goes with the Vekaldi Tear gloves. Vekaldi Tears are indestructible, in this dimension. They can be as thin as your shirts!" I began to draw out designs and instructions as our prototypes began to succeed. "I'm going to go photocopy these to hand out to the Lunas. If anything happens, mind-link me. Bryan is in charge as of this moment!"

I walked through the empty corridors of the Pack House, majority of the werewolves have gone out to the training fields were. That was where the food and drinks were after all. This may be the last time this pack house is going to be filled. I mean, werewolves are going to be extinct soon, I thought sadly.

No, no, keep your head in the game. The Levagairs are messing with you, Astrid urged as she began to strengthen our mind block. You're right. Okay, okay, I'm fine now, I said confidently. I smiled with relief as I looked over the designs and instructions for our Jaw and Claw covers. We are definitely going to have to come up with better names for those, Astrid huffed.

Levagairs, we're coming.
