I felt my knees hit the floor as I wrapped my hands around him in worry and confusion.  Do not worry little mate, Liam will be fine, a deep voice soothed me. I whirled around in search of the voice. Astrid seemed to perk up upon hearing the low, growl-like voice. Do not be alarmed Kate. My name is Julius, I am Liam's wolf, Julius said kindly, Liam and I swore an oath to never speak about The Prophecy. This happens whenever he attempts to speak of it.

Before I could continue to speak with his wolf, Liam straightened up, "Sorry about that. I'm sure my wolf explained what happened, right?"

"Julius didn't explain much, is there a reason why the Alpha made you swear an oath?" I asked curiously. It was rare that Alphas made their pack members swear oaths. Considering the consequence of trying to tell me about it now, I assumed it was the blood oath. An oath so powerful, it could only be demanded by the Moon Goddess herself.

"He said I may be a part of the prophecy, and if I was, everyone I love and myself would be in danger." Liam said as he stared deep into my eyes, "I thought you deserved to know, especially if you are staying with me from now on."

"You can't tell me much can you?" I looked out his window to avoid his alluring emerald eyes. I heard him huff as he made his way over to the window. Liam stayed silent for a few moments, simply gazing out the window. I began to wonder if he had heard me say anything at all. With a roll of my eyes, I opened my mouth to repeat myself. Suddenly, Liam turned around and took a deep breath.

"During the ceremony to join our pack, you will learn about The Prophecy." Liam explained. "There are a lot of things you don't know about this pack. You'll gradually learn everything in time, it would be too overwhelming to know everything at once. Most of it you'll learn during your training. Just as a heads up, becoming a strong Pack Warrior is going to demand everything of you. Mentally and physically." Liam said cryptically.

He looked at the clock and his eyes glazed over. Someone must have been mind-linking him. "You have to get ready for the ceremony. Both you and Sharon will be joining this pack tonight. Christy offered to lend you a ceremonial dress. I am assuming you never had one made for you. Tomorrow you can go shopping with whoever you want."

I looked up in surprise and my mouth dropped open in guilt. I had gotten swept away in the flood of the past few days that I had completely forgotten about Sharon. I was certain Sharon would enjoy a good shopping spree. We had only gone shopping once when we were about 15. We were buying groceries for the pack, but we couldn't resist checking out the small and messy cosmetics section the supermarket provided.

We never made any money as omegas, but we would sometimes find long forgotten coins on the floor of the Pack House or in the pockets of the pack members when we washed their dirty laundry. Needless to say, with Alpha Leo's sensitive senses, he was able to sniff out the nail polish the moment we opened the bottle. After being beaten to a pulp, we were never allowed out of the Pack House again. Unfortunately, that wasn't the worst part.

The Alpha did not believe that we just simply found the money. He had all the omegas' belongings searched, and there he uncovered all sorts of things we've tucked away such as, stolen shirts and some kitchen knives. We were all given a sentence of two weeks without food and our most precious belongings including pictures of our family members were burnt.

The omegas despised Sharon and I for months after that. But this time, I was allowed to go and there wouldn't be any consequences. I would no longer have to fear the innocent twinkle of the silver chains or face the loathing in my fellow omegas' eyes.

My heart fluttered as I grew excited to try on cute tops, eat junk food and scrounge for sales and bargain, just like they did in movies. My fingers twitched as I imagined swatching the velvety makeup on my wrist and testing out the dark, matte nail polishes. I had seen beautiful acrylics on a she-wolf's fingernails during her wedding. It added the perfect amount of grace and femininity.

The smile that grew on my face instantly fell and the enthusiastic glisten in my eyes faded when I realized that I only had the crumpled ten dollar bill my mother gave me before she died. The last time she had ever given me allowance. As silly as it sounds, I couldn't bear parting with it. My face flushed and my eyes fell to the floor. "I can't go shopping."

"Why not? I can drive you there and stay with you if you are afraid." Liam said sincerely. At the moment, he looked so innocent with his hair hanging in his eyes, as if blocking his view on the evident and obvious problem. I felt my face burn with shame as the next words left my mouth.

"I don't have any money." Afraid of what he was going to say, I began to babble. "I mean, I have ten dollars, and that's enough if I'm not taking the bus. I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but I can only buy my lunch in the food court with that. Oh gosh, I must sound like a spoiled brat... Forget it. I'll just stay here tomorrow. I might be tired from the ceremony and-."

Liam broke out into a slight chuckle, interrupting my humiliation. The redness of my face only brightened upon hearing him laugh. "You can use mine. The Alpha pays me quite well for being the Pack Tracker. I'm not rich or anything, but it's more than enough for just me to spend alone." He pushed my chin up and my eyes automatically locked with his. "There's no need to be embarrassed to ask me for things. It's my job as a mate to provide for you."

"That works both ways. I don't have anything I could give to you." I flushed realizing how little I really had. It never mattered in the Lunar Pack because all I did was clean anyways. No one ever looked twice in my direction unless it was to insult me or criticize my work.

I only needed a few pieces of clothing as I was kept hidden in my room when other packs visited. The leftovers from meals were shared between all the omegas. The way it worked with us was the children and the injured ate first and whatever was left went to us. The elderly omegas were killed because the Alpha thought they were useless.

"You don't have to give anything to me." Liam opened his mouth to say more, but he quickly shut it. "Christy is on her way, I should go." I nodded and he pulled me in for a hug and left a soft kissed my head where it would continue to linger for the next hour. A stamp of his affection towards me. Even after he left, I still felt warmth from his unspoken words. Whatever they might have been, I was sure I would have agreed with him. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard some grunting from outside my door.

Hesitantly I opened it up and a gasp escaped from my lips.
