GRUESOME CHAPTER!

"They're here! Get the hell up!" Startled, I quickly sat up as the door burst open. "Cover up, god, I don't want to go into the war blind!" I looked down to see the blanket had fell off the bed, revealing my and Liam's naked bodies.

"Sharon, what the hell is going on?!" I shouted. I caught the two black suits we wore in battle. These suits provided us with some protection and was able to mold to both our wolf and human forms.

"How many have arrived?" Liam asked as he zipped the suit up. He made his way to the navy blue couch in his room. Liam extended his claws and slashed the couch open to reveal an array of Vekaldi tear weapons.

"Nice." I caught the pair of daggers he tossed at me and sheathed them.

"None have arrived... Yet." Sharon said.

"Okay... So... What's the problem?" Liam skillfully spun his blades around before tucking them into their respective sheaths. Your dream, look outside, Astrid urged. I ran to the window and felt my knees tremble at the sight. My nightmare was becoming a reality.

"Come on, we don't have much time. Is everyone ready?" I asked.

"Everyone's just grabbing some extra weapons. We meet on the training field in five." Sharon said. "I'll be outside waiting with Dylan. Hurry."

Liam and I ran down to the near-empty basement. Almost everyone was ready for battle. I grabbed ten throwing knives, a katana [Japanese sword] and five shuriken [ninja stars]. "Ready?" I asked and Liam nodded.

We ran to the training field to find everyone getting into their final positions. My loyal pack. This war is the sole reason our pack was created. This will undoubtedly be our bloodiest fight with the most casualties. Tell your mates and family you love them. It may be your last time. The other Alphas have mind-linked me. Only two other portals have opened up. One in the middle of South America, and the other in the middle of Europe. May the Moon Goddess help us, Blake Mind-linked. May the Moon Goddess help us, we mind-linked back.

Liam and I approached the front line and grimly greeted Blake and Christy. We had formed a circle around the portal and were ready to attack it from all directions. I looked to the portal  and it was the exact one from my nightmares. The same tortured screams could be heard from the portal and the same shadows of demons could be seen at the bottom of the portal.

"Liam I-"

"No, stop. We're going to get through this. We have to." Liam said as he took my hands in his.

"Yes, we will, if you stay away from me. You have to. I'm going to kill you if you don't." I looked into his emerald green eyes one last time before I pushed him away. "Fight on the other side of the portal where Christy is."

"I'll still be keeping an eye on you. That's what this bow and arrow is for." Liam said.

"Yea, yea. Keep an eye on yourself. We both know that I'm the better fighter anyways." I grinned.

"Stay safe, little warrior." Liam said as he gave me one last kiss on the lips. I watched as he got into position beside Christy. I looked around to see our archers nocking their arrows as they waited for the first Levagairs to crawl out.

"Ready warriors?!" Christy exclaimed. We howled in response and the first Levagairs carefully slinked out. The archers took no time in shooting them down. All five Levagairs fell to the floor as the arrows pierced through their skulls, taking their lives. The Levagairs shifted back into their "human" forms once they have died and they looked eerily ordinary.

We all stood alert and at attention for the next few minutes, but nothing happened. "What's going on?" I asked as the portal began to close. We looked at each other in confusion once the portal fully sealed itself and disappeared. It was like nothing had ever happened.

"Everyone, stay alert. We have no idea what else is going to happen." Christy warned. Suddenly the portal reappeared, right underneath our pack house.

"No!" Blake shouted as the pack house fell into the portal and disintegrated into nothing. We all stood frozen in shock. All of our young and old who had been hiding in the safe room in the pack house and now, they were all gone.

I heard anguished howls resonate from parents, broken mates and sons and daughters. "I'll kill them! I'll kill them all!" Bryan angrily yelled and he ran to the portal. As he jumped down, he burst into flames and disappeared into dust.

"Everyone spread out! We can't be caught in this position. Go!" Liam yelled. Suddenly, a wave of Levagairs charged out from the portal. There must have been thousands. They hissed as they ran at us and their sharp claws left deep prints in the earth.

Did you like that show? You must know how much we love to play mind games, a demonic voice filled my head. This must be the voice of the Levagair that was controlling my mind. I'll kill you, I whispered back venomously as I slid my blade down the side of a Levagair. It shrieked before spurting black blood onto my dark armor. At least the colour matches, Astrid stated.

I swiftly drove my dagger hilt-deep into the Levagairs eye before running towards Vivian. Vivian stood emotionless as she stared down three Levagairs who had surrounded her. I whipped a knife at one of the Levagair's head and without turning around, it quickly smacked it away with its tail. Allow me, Astrid said confidently.

I slid on the retainer-like piece of Vekaldi Tears and I shifted into Astrid. Revenge, Astrid said gleefully before closing her jaws onto the tail of the Levagair. She ripped it off in one motion and swiped her claws across its hind legs. I saw Vivian shift as well and leap onto the Levagair who charged at me from behind.

Having fun little warrior? The demonic voice asked again. This time it was louder, as it someone were talking right beside my ear. That's it, let your anger consume you. Let in the emotion, the voice whispered loudly as I violently ripped off the head of a Levagair.

I saw an arrow fly by the side of my face before it dug itself deep into the chest of the Levagair who attempted to bite my neck. Liam? I shifted back to my human form and unsheathed my katana. Liam, get out of here. The Levagairs are inside my- I was cut off as a pure black Levagair jumped onto me, pinning me down.

Found you, the voice said in my head. I cried out as it bit into my mark. I felt some sort of liquid or venom release from its canines. Kill your mate, puppet. Kill him now, the voice commanded me. Run, I mind-linked Liam as the last of my sanity dwindled away. My vision was hazed with black. It was as if I was looking through smoke.

"Everyone, get out of Kate's way. She's been possessed!" I heard a familiar, deep voice yell in panic. Visions of betrayal filled my mind. The time when a man took me to see a graveyard with glass tombstones, that man had tried to bury me alive. The time when I gave a man my trust and kissed him, only to have him slash my body with his sharp claws, almost taking my life. This man must die.
