I knelt on the ground and looked around through my hazy vision. All these familiar, yet unrecognizable faces around me held similar expressions of fear. I took out a knife and threw it at the onlooking crowd, but was filled with disappointment when it didn't hit any targets.

"Kate?" I heard a man say delicately. He took a step towards me and held his hands out carefully. "Kate, can you hear me?"The closer he got to me, the more the thirst for revenge begged to be sated. Cry, a familiar, demonic voice commanded. Tears began to roll down my face uncontrollably and I could hear myself sniffling.

"Little warrior?" Step by step the man crept closer and inch by inch the desire to kill him rose within the deepest pits of my soul. The man knelt down to my level just a couple of feet away from me. Say his name, the voice commanded.

Why? I only wanted to see that man bleed, not begin a conversation. DO IT, the voice cried in rage."L-Liam," My voice broke as I said his name, and gave the impression that I was weak and needed comforting. I hated it.

"Kate? Oh thank god." The man rushed towards me and tilted my head up. Upon meeting my eyes, he furrowed his brows in confusion. "Your eyes are still-" I cut him off with a swing of my katana, unfortunately, the man was able to jump back before I could make a scratch.

"That was predictable, babe." The man mocked. Someone tossed him an iron sword and a needle filled with some sort of liquid. "If you are willing to co-operate, stay still so I can sedate you." With that one joke, I felt something snap within me. All the fury I had suppressed was released and I yearned for blood.

"I'm going to kill you!" I cried in rage as I wildly swung my sword towards him.

"Not the first time you've said that." The man said as he casually dodged my attack. Focus. Kill him, the voice commanded. I threw my katana at the crowd once more, I hated the feeling of their eyes on my back. I unsheathed my two daggers and smiled as the Vekaldi Tears twinkled in the blood-red sky.

I saw a flicker of nervousness pass through the man's face and I grinned menacingly. I bolted to him straight on with my daggers held back and ready to strike. I noticed the man moving to the left in an attempt to evade my attack, but it was too late. With a cry, I created an "X" on his torso.

To my surprise, the man didn't back away from my daggers, instead he yanked me closer towards him. He lengthened his fangs and I heard him release an agonized cry as his fangs sank into my shoulder. That would be my venom, the voice said gleefully. Will it kill him? I asked. No, you get that pleasure my dear, the voice responded, and I let out a grin. I looked up to the sky and noticed the sun had set and the moon had concealed itself behind a dark cloud.

I dragged my daggers upwards from his torso and kicked the man away from me. I beamed brightly as I smelt the blood pour into the earth. "Kate! Snap out of it! He's your mate, Liam!" I heard a woman's voice cry from the crowd. I watched in confusion as a woman's figure run towards me.

"Sharon! Get your ass back here right now!" I watched in interest as another figure chased after the woman. The woman stopped a few feet away from me and her clouded eyes met mine.

"She won't hurt me." I smirked, delighted to prove the woman wrong.

"What are you doing? Sharon, move!" I heard a voice call. I threw one of my daggers as hard as I could towards the figure and giggled as it dug itself deep into her torso. I laughed psychotically as a figure attempted to stop the bleeding. Focus on your task, the voice demanded.

With a roll of my eyes, I made my way towards my target who was crumbled on the ground. "No! Don't come near me. You might get injured." He cried at another figure who was coming to aid him. My knees sank into the blood-soaked earth as I knelt beside him. I pressed the tip of my dagger to a very special place on his back. If I pushed hard enough, I could penetrate his heart from there.

"I told you I would-" I was cut off as an arrow dug itself into my lower back. The arrow had nestled itself between the vertebrae of my spine. I toppled to the ground in a midst of pain and panic. I couldn't move my legs. I heard a pained howl resonate from a trembling figure.

"You killed your best friend. My mate." The figure stood up and stalked towards me. His steel sword glistened under the moonlight.

"Dylan, no! You know it wasn't her." I heard the man say.

"If killing him is going to be as easy as killing his mate, I'm sure it won't take long." I smirked when I heard an enraged growl and the pounding of feet. I watched as my dagger sliced through the air, but the figure easily dodged it. His anger must be giving him extra adrenaline. I readied myself for the man's attack, but it never came.

I heard a strangled gasp as the man leaped in front of the figure's blade. "L-Liam. Shit! Shit, shit, shit! I'm so sorry." Realizing this was my only chance, I wildly reached down to my weapons holster, but it was empty.

"I'm sorry too. Sorry you didn't finish the job." I said as I took my target's sword and plunged it into his chest. My vision began to clarify and I felt something stirring within me. Kate, what did you do? Astrid howled. I-I-, I struggled to find words.

"Liam? Oh shit!" I pressed my hands to his bloody chest. "I'm so sorry, p-please forgive me." Astrid's pained howls rang hauntingly through my head.

"Shh. It wasn't you." Liam whispered faintly. "I love you, little warrior."

"Liam? No, no. This can't be it. This can't be!" I shook his body with my trembling, bloody hands, but I knew he was gone. I looked around to see the carnage the Levagairs had left behind. All the Levagairs had left in the midst of my battle with Liam except for one. A pure black Levagair watched me with careful eyes. It stalked towards me with it's tail held high.

I gazed around one last time and my eyes landed on Sharon's dead body. I bit back my sobs, but the tears streamed down my eyes. Dylan's empty eyes met mine and I took crawled towards the Levagair. No one stopped me. I managed to push myself to my knees and I held my head up. I stared into the Levagair's eyes and nodded. I closed my eyes and relished in the pain of it slicing me to pieces.

Sorry for being away for so long, as I mentioned in the author's note, these past few days have been hell. I know this chapter isn't very good and I will come back to edit this for sure. (Edits will not change any main events in this chapter, so a re-read is not necessary). I wanted to give you guys something, especially after the cliff hanger from Chapter 24. Next chapter will be the Epilogue, and not to worry, an alternate ending will also be written. Follow, comment and vote! <3
